New Pub Honors Predecessor While Modernizing the Concept The Irish Spot has opened at 1350 E.

Tropicana Ave. in Las Vegas, taking over the long-standing Crown & Anchor location with a refreshed concept that blends Irish-inspired comfort food, a curated beer program, and neighborhood hospitality. Managing Partner Kelcie Alder said: "We've always believed this place is bigger than us; it belongs to the community. Our goal with The Irish Spot is to honor what people loved about the bar while evolving it into something that feels fresh, welcoming and exciting for everyone who walks through the door."

Menu Focuses on House-Made Preparation The menu emphasizes traditional Irish pub fare with elevated execution.

Starters include the sausage roll made with pork sausage baked in flaky puff pastry ($14); Shepherd's Fries with hand-cut chips, cheese and shepherd's pie filling ($15); and the battered sausage ($15). Wings come in mild, hot, BBQ and lemon pepper varieties. Main dishes feature Fish & Chips made with beer-battered cod or haddock, chips and mushy peas ($19); and Bangers & Mash with pork sausages, mashed potatoes, peas and gravy ($16). Handheld options include the Sloppy Irishman with shepherd's pie filling, cheese and onion on brioche ($16); a beef smash burger with two patties ($16); a chicken burger ($14); and a ham and cheese Toastie ($13). Whelan, the owner, said: "We put a lot of emphasis on making things from scratch and doing them the right way. From our house-made sausage to our Fish & Chips and traditional pub favorites, we're focused on quality ingredients and dishes that people will want to come back for."

Beer Program and Sports Focus The bar stocks 28 beers on tap, anchored by Irish standards including Guinness, Harp, Kilkenny and Smithwick's alongside local craft options. The beverage program also includes classic cocktails, Irish whiskey, and game-day favorites. The Irish Spot positions itself as a sports viewing destination, with programming centered on major sporting events, European football, hurling and Gaelic football—continuing a tradition from the former Crown & Anchor.

Unique Space Elements The venue includes a members-only "Snug" for private gatherings, a dog-friendly garden patio, and a Rebel Room dedicated to UNLV. Operating hours are Sunday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to midnight.

Why It Matters

For Las Vegas operators and the broader hospitality industry, The Irish Spot's approach—balancing nostalgia with menu modernization and emphasizing house-made preparation—offers a playbook for revitalizing heritage locations. The integration of European sports programming and community-centric design elements addresses both casual dining and niche sports viewership, expanding the venue's addressable market beyond traditional pub audiences.
