Hospitality Consultancy Expands Into Podcast Content Mr Lyan Studio has launched Studio Lates, a podcast series exploring flavour and creativity in food and drink. Co-hosted by Ryan Chetiyawardana and Anna Sulan Masing, the brand strategy director, the series draws from the consultancy's existing live event format and features interviews with industry figures in food, drink, and hospitality. Produced in partnership with Fever-Tree and podcast producer Lucy Dearlove, Studio Lates launched on July 21, with episodes now available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Episode Lineup The first episode, "Salt & Vinegar: The Flavour Powerhouses," featured Gregorie Marshall of Blackthorn Salt, Maddy Norval of Dornoch Craft Vinegar, and author Angela Clutton. The second episode, "Taking the Terror out of Terroir," launched August 25 and features award-winning bar owner and wine author Sunny Hodge. Upcoming episodes include a September 22 installment with cider and perry maker Tom Oliver focused on "Heritage & Deliciousness," and a September 29 episode featuring Chet Sharma of Bibi Restaurant. A fifth episode is planned for November. Each live event at Mr Lyan Studio includes a seated audience, with bespoke snacks and drinks created by the studio team and discussed throughout the episode.

Broader Expansion The podcast launch coincides with other content initiatives from the consultancy.

In 2025, Mr Lyan Studio released "Taste Trips," a YouTube series where Chetiyawardana explores cities through their drinking cultures. The series has exceeded seven million views and was shortlisted for both the Fortnum & Mason Food & Drink Awards and Guild of Food Writers Awards in 2026. The team also led sessions at Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans, with Managing Director Bob Conwell hosting a seminar on the no and low category and Sulan Masing discussing Southeast Asia's bar scene. Mr Lyan Studio is currently developing two new venues: Bartholomew's at the London Museum (opening November 2026) and the relaunch of 1820, a Johnnie Walker rooftop bar in Edinburgh scheduled for September.

Why It Matters

For hospitality operators and beverage brands, the Studio Lates podcast represents a growing trend of consultancies and hospitality brands using podcasting and content to build thought leadership and engage industry stakeholders. The series connects ingredient suppliers, bar operators, and beverage brands in a curated format, creating a platform for category education and brand visibility.
