New Programming Targets Daypart Gaps
Leonardo, Miami Beach's Italian restaurant and lounge celebrating 1930s-1950s Italian-American dining, is expanding its weekly programming to fill daypart voids and capitalize on summer tourism. The rollout—launched this month—includes a prohibition-themed Monday experience, weekend brunch service, and midweek aperitivo hours.
The moves position the restaurant as a multidaypart venue at a time when many Miami Beach establishments close early or operate limited schedules on slower nights.
The Prohibition Club Anchors Monday Nights
The centerpiece offering is The Prohibition Club, running Monday nights from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. The experience transforms the dining room with period decor—secret cocktail flasks, crime-scene tape, and staff in 1920s-inspired attire including suspenders, fedoras, and Gatsby-influenced dresses. VIP tables reference notorious figures and films: Al Capone, Johnny Torrio, The Bronx, and The Godfather. Live saxophone performances anchor the evening.
Leonardo co-founder Igor Dze explained the programming strategy: "Leonardo was designed to bring people together through great food, conversation and a sense of occasion. These new experiences allow guests to engage with the restaurant in different ways throughout the week, whether joining us for brunch, aperitivo or immersive evening programming."
Weekend Brunch and Aperitivo Hours
Weekend brunch launched June 7 and runs Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The menu centers on elevated breakfast classics: New York Steak E Uova ($49), Bagel Al Salmone Affumicato ($27), Lobster Roll Al Caviale ($35), and French Toast ($24) with berry limoncello syrup. A prix-fixe option at $55 per person includes two courses and dessert. Bottomless beverage packages range from $29 (Mimosa) to $200 (Dom Pérignon).
Aperó Hour launches Monday, June 8, and runs Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 5-8 p.m. Signature $10 cocktails include the Sunset Spritz, Porna Lisa, Dolomiti Beer, and My Art Garita, alongside wine, beer, and zero-proof options. Food offerings include oysters ($3 each), Tuna Tartare Cone ($15), Arancini ($12), and Polpo ($15).
Late-Night and Ladies Programming
Thursday Ladies' Night (7-11:30 p.m.) offers $10 cocktails at the bar. Late Night at Leonardo operates Friday and Saturday from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m., with deeper lighting and live DJs shifting the atmosphere toward a supper club vibe.
The restaurant operates Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., and Sunday from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. It is located at 21st Street and Collins Avenue, Suite 2, Miami Beach. Reservations are available through OpenTable.
Why It Matters
Full-service restaurants increasingly recognize that single-daypart operations limit revenue potential. Leonardo's programming expansion—particularly its Prohibition Club and weekend brunch—targets historically soft nights and dayparts while creating shareable, Instagram-worthy experiences that drive traffic during competitive seasons. For Miami Beach operators, the strategy demonstrates how themed programming and flexible service models can extend operating hours profitably and capture spillover from hotels and FIFA-related events.
