A 3D production model on the Canton Fair floor told a more complete story than any single machine could. Golden Bake, the baking equipment division of EVERGROWING MACHINERY COMPANY LIMITED, used the 140th Canton Fair to demonstrate how intelligent silos, automated dosing, and pneumatic conveying can link with mixing, forming, and baking as a single coordinated line — rather than a collection of sequential steps prone to bottlenecks.

The Dust and Dosing Problem

The system targets two chronic pain points in industrial biscuit production: airborne flour dust and ingredient weighing inconsistency. On the dust side, Golden Bake's feeding station combines bag emptying, 30-mesh sifting, and dual-suction negative-pressure extraction. The setup can process up to 50 kg of flour per minute through a pulse-cleaned cartridge separator fitted with food-grade anti-static filter media. Pneumatic conveying then moves flour through sealed pipes to storage, including between floors, with the electrical and powder-handling design built to comply with Chinese explosion-proof standards GB 50058-2014 and AQ 3009-2007 — specifications that mirror the safety concerns raised by regulators such as OSHA, which classifies flour as a flammable dust.

Precision dosing is handled by a PLC- and HMI-controlled weighing hopper with a tested tolerance of ±200 grams. A two-flour recipe cycle runs approximately three minutes, with vacuum feeding and pneumatically sealed discharge to keep the system clean between batches. "With mixed-flour recipes, even a small shift in the ratio can change water absorption, dough strength, and forming performance," a Golden Bake food technologist said. "In high-volume production, that quickly shows up in biscuit thickness and texture." The system logs recipe and weighing data, which the company says reduces the impact of operator turnover — a meaningful feature given persistent labor challenges across foodservice and food manufacturing.

Line Scheduling and Retrofit Flexibility

Beyond flour, the integrated line uses PLC-controlled scheduling to mill and weigh powdered sugar online, meter additives to recipe, and pump oils, water, and liquids into the mixer in parallel. The goal is to eliminate the idle time that occurs when a mixer waits on a single lagging ingredient — a drag on overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) that biscuit makers running continuous operations feel acutely.

The modularity of the platform is designed to serve two distinct customer profiles. According to Baking Business, a 2025–26 industrial bakery capital spending survey found 32% of bakery enterprises focusing on upgrades and retrofitting, while 22% plan to add new equipment or production lines. Golden Bake's feeding system can be configured to integrate with existing biscuit lines or serve as part of a turnkey factory build covering layout planning, equipment, installation, and commissioning. The same survey found 59% of respondents cited quality, consistency, and precision as key investment objectives for 2026 — aligning directly with the case Golden Bake made on the Canton Fair floor.

For operators evaluating bakery automation investment, the broader context matters: ingredient handling is frequently the last section of a production line to be automated, yet it is often where process variation originates. Systems that can document weighing cycles and support rapid product changeovers are increasingly relevant for contract bakers and branded manufacturers managing SKU complexity.

Golden Bake, founded in 1999, reports more than 3,500 production lines installed across 30-plus countries. The company's Canton Fair exhibit also included a multifunction cookies machine, cream puff line, biscuit sandwich machine, and wafer stick machine.
