The Palm Tree Club & Hotel Miami is trading its usual identity for a five-day branded takeover this Art Basel season. Palm Tree Crew and e.l.f. Beauty (NYSE: ELF) have partnered to transform the property into "Hote.l.f." from Dec. 2–6, blending beauty product discovery, live entertainment, and immersive activations across the hotel during one of the hospitality calendar's most competitive weeks in Miami.
What Operators Get
For hospitality professionals watching brand partnership models evolve, the Hote.l.f. concept is worth examining. Rather than a traditional event sponsorship or logo placement, e.l.f. Brands — encompassing e.l.f. Cosmetics, e.l.f. SKIN, and e.l.f. Hair — will be woven into every touchpoint of the guest experience. Programming includes a photo booth, branded pool inflatables, custom-wrapped vehicle, lounge chairs, umbrellas, towels, a claw clip bedazzling station, and personalized tote and towel embroidery. The integration moves beauty from a retail shelf into the full arc of a hotel stay, a model that hospitality operators have increasingly explored as a revenue and differentiation strategy.
Palm Tree Crew CEO Michael Diaz framed it as a deliberate step beyond conventional co-marketing. "As our first partnership with a beauty brand, Hote.l.f. represents an exciting evolution in how we collaborate with brands and bring them into the Palm Tree Crew world," Diaz said. "We're creating something that goes beyond traditional event sponsorship, building a fully integrated experience that connects with our audiences in new ways."
The Programming Breakdown
The five-day schedule opens with invitation-only events on Wednesday, Dec. 2 and Thursday, Dec. 3. Palm Tree Crew's broader Art Basel programming — including its signature nightclub experience — opens to the public on Saturday and Sunday, with additional brand partners joining the lineup across the weekend. The public-facing weekend events reflect a growing hospitality trend: using a culturally anchored anchor event to drive foot traffic and brand exposure beyond a core VIP audience.
For e.l.f., the activation is a logical extension of a positioning strategy the company has openly embraced. Patrick O'Keefe, Chief Integrated Marketing Officer at e.l.f. Brands, described the company as "an entertainment company that happens to sell beauty," adding that Palm Tree Crew's position at the intersection of art, culture, and music made them the right partner to deliver an experiential brand moment.
The Hote.l.f. partnership also illustrates how experiential programming at hotels and clubs is maturing — brands are no longer satisfied with signage and sponsored cocktails. Full property takeovers, where a brand shapes the sensory environment from arrival through checkout, are becoming a viable format for both hospitality operators seeking revenue and brands seeking cultural relevance. Palm Tree Crew's growing portfolio — which spans Miami, Orlando, Las Vegas, Kansas City, and Nashville — gives it the platform infrastructure to offer that model at scale.
