Four new Crispy Homestyle Chicken preparations anchor Cracker Barrel Old Country Store's fall limited-time menu, available at participating locations nationwide beginning August 18 through October 18. Priced from $9.99, the lineup positions the chain to compete on value during a back-to-school season when family dining budgets face pressure.
The New Chicken Lineup
The chicken offerings split into two tiers. Loaded Creations add toppings to the hand-breaded base: the Maple Bacon Homestyle Chicken layers Colby cheese, crispy bacon, sweet maple glaze, and ranch drizzle, while the BBQ Smokestack version piles on bacon, fried onions, Colby cheese, and barbecue sauce. Sauced Selections keep it simpler — Nashville Hot brings the chain's signature spice profile, and Honey Butter delivers a sweet-savory finish. The base entrée and sandwich formats both open at $9.99, with two Country Sides and a bread choice included for the entrée build.
The value framing is deliberate. Chicken remains one of the highest-velocity protein categories in casual and family dining, and operators across the segment have leaned into chicken-forward menu innovation as a lever for both traffic and check management. Cracker Barrel's tiered structure — plain, loaded, sauced — gives servers a natural upsell path while keeping the entry price accessible.
Breakfast and Seasonal Additions
Fall breakfast gets a seasonal push with Sweet Cream Caramel Apple Pancakes and Sweet Cream Caramel Apple French Toast, both served with two eggs and a choice of bacon or smoked sausage patties. Cracker Barrel's breakfast daypart is a core revenue driver, and apple-themed builds have historically performed well for the brand heading into Q4.
The seasonal menu rounds out with new Apple Cobbler Cheesecake, returning Carrot Cake, Granny Smith Apple Tea, Granny Smith Apple Mimosa, and a new Sweet Honey Latte. Apple beverages represent a low-cost seasonal signal that resonates strongly in family dining — a trend beverage menu operators have tracked closely as alternatives to traditional soft drink upsells.
Kids' Promotion and Retail Tie-In
From August 18 through September 7, dine-in guests who purchase an adult entrée and a Kid's Meal on the same check can receive one of six collectible B'loonie Petz squishy toys at no additional charge, while supplies last. The promotion caps at six toys per check. Alternatively, guests can apply up to $5 off a qualifying retail toy from the Old Country Store, reinforcing the dual restaurant-retail model that differentiates Cracker Barrel within casual dining.
Sarah Moore, Chief Marketing Officer at Cracker Barrel, framed the promotion around reducing friction for time-pressed families. "We want Cracker Barrel to make that a little easier, with food everyone can get excited about, value families can feel good about and the kind of welcome that lets them simply enjoy being together," she said.
With approximately 660 company-owned locations across 43 states, Cracker Barrel has the footprint to move meaningful volume during a two-month LTO window. The combination of a sub-$10 entry price, new protein builds, and a kids' incentive gives operators a multi-pronged pitch heading into one of the year's busiest family-dining periods.
