European Hospitality Giant Makes U.S. Debut in Palm Beach County
Big Mamma Group, the Italy-focused restaurant collective operating 35 locations across nine countries, will open its first American restaurant in Juno Beach in late 2026.
The expansion marks a significant shift in the group's growth strategy. Rather than treating South Florida as a satellite market, co-founder Tigrane Seydoux has relocated to the region with his family to personally oversee the U.S. launch—signaling a long-term commitment beyond a single opening.
Building a Global Empire
Founded by Victor Lugger and Tigrane Seydoux, Big Mamma has cultivated a reputation across Europe with acclaimed properties including Pink Mamma in Paris, Gloria Osteria in Milan, and Carlotta in London. The group was Europe's first B Corp-certified restaurant collective, built on what the company describes as "obsessive Italian sourcing, immersive design, joyful hospitality, and a people-first culture."
Strategic Local Partnerships
The Juno Beach opening will be anchored by partnerships with two established hospitality operators: Palm Beach institution Carmine's Gourmet Market & La Trattoria and Chicago-based Ballyhoo Hospitality. These alliances suggest Big Mamma is embedding itself in existing local networks rather than operating as an isolated import.
Market Timing
The entry comes as South Florida—particularly Palm Beach County—has increasingly positioned itself as a destination for luxury dining experiences, attracting high-profile chef-driven concepts and international restaurant groups seeking U.S. expansion.
Why It Matters
For operators and investors tracking the U.S. fine-dining market, Big Mamma's arrival signals confidence in South Florida's demographic and economic fundamentals. The group's decision to embed its founders and partner with local operators rather than franchising or outsourcing management offers a model for how established European concepts are approaching American expansion.
