Design Reimagines Classic Steakhouse with Dual Aesthetic Woogmaster Studio has completed a comprehensive renovation of Prime Steakhouse at Bellagio Las Vegas, drawing on the property's existing Hollywood Regency and art-deco vocabulary while introducing new design layers inspired by 1950s and 60s high society fashion. The redesign creates a deliberate visual distinction between the lounge and main dining room. The lounge evokes the glamour of women's fashion from that era, featuring glittering mirrors and gold accents. The main dining room, by contrast, references the sophisticated style of men's suiting with richer tones and a moodier atmosphere consistent with classic steakhouses.
Materials and Spatial Details The lobby entrance features a dramatic Saint Laurent marble door casing, diamond carved glass doors, and antique Parisian sconces. The cocktail lounge employs a palette of French blue and warm caramel tones across gilded handmade wall coverings and Italian mirrored surfaces that subtly reflect the adjacent Fountains of Bellagio. Within the main dining room, layered drapery and tailored partitions create a series of intimate salons rather than one open space. Venetian chandeliers and sculptural lighting add softness, while custom carpets with vintage lattice motifs provide structural grounding. Diamond-cut glasswork throughout the space draws inspiration from vintage cocktail glasses and barware. Custom bas relief doors at the private dining room display the water show even when closed, amplifying the restaurant's unique vantage over Bellagio's fountains.
Creative Leadership "Since opening with Bellagio in 1998, Prime Steakhouse has been a celebrated dining destination, renowned for its sophisticated atmosphere and unparalleled views of the Fountains of Bellagio," said Alex Woogmaster, Founder and Creative Director at Woogmaster Studio. "Our design blends classic European elegance and contemporary Las Vegas glamour, with the goal of creating a setting that feels simultaneously intimate and theatrical. We sought to preserve the restaurant's enduring character while refining and elevating its design for a new generation of guests." Woogmaster Studio, founded in 2019, has also completed renovations of the Bellagio Pool Deck, Noodles Pan-Asian Bistro, and the resort's Beauty Salon & Barbershop, with a comprehensive redesign of the Bellagio Spa planned for later in 2026.
Why It Matters
For casino and resort operators, Prime's redesign exemplifies how established dining venues can maintain brand equity and appeal while modernizing for contemporary audiences. The project demonstrates the value of cohesive spatial storytelling—using distinct design languages within a single property to guide guest flow and enhance the dining experience.
