Wild Eggs, a Louisville-born breakfast-and-brunch concept founded in 2007, is making its entry into the Columbus, Ohio market this fall with a location on Old Hamilton Road slated to open in early October. The chain currently operates around 19 locations across Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio and is known for scratch-made morning food served in a bright, welcoming dining environment. Additional Columbus-area locations are in development.

Growth Strategy Hinges on Franchising and Company Units Expansion is proceeding through a combination of company-operated units and franchise agreements. Wild Eggs has already entered into franchise agreements across eight states, marking a shift in growth strategy beyond its core three-state region. The brand is backed by PG Growth Opportunities, which acquired Wild Eggs in 2023 and has since built a small multi-concept portfolio that also includes Crazy Bowls & Wraps, a St. Louis-based healthy fast-casual brand. Each concept operates independently under shared ownership.

Brand Positioning and Recent Updates Wild Eggs differentiates itself through an emphasis on real ingredients and real care in breakfast preparation. Recent brand work includes a full website rebuild and seasonal campaigns centered on the brunch experience, including bottomless mimosas at Kentucky locations.

Why It Matters

For regional breakfast-and-brunch operators, Wild Eggs demonstrates how smaller chains can leverage multi-concept ownership to fund expansion and compete with national franchisors. The shift toward franchising signals confidence in unit-level economics and a proven operating model that can travel beyond the home market.
