A single-night tribute concert rooted in one of entertainment history's most celebrated documents is coming to Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino on October 24, 2026. 1970 LIVE! – That's the Way It Was will feature acclaimed Elvis Tribute Artist Travis Powell performing inside the International Theater — the same room where the 1970 documentary Elvis: That's the Way It Is captured Presley's live performances during his summer engagement at what was then the International Hotel.

The Show's Draw

For hospitality operators, the event illustrates how legacy venue identity can drive ticket revenue and ancillary spending across a resort's dining, bar, and entertainment ecosystem. Westgate's International Theater has become a recurring anchor for Elvis-themed programming, and this production leans into that history with scale: Powell is backed by a nine-piece band and nine background singers. The setlist draws directly from the documentary era, featuring "Suspicious Minds," "Lost That Lovin' Feelin'," "Love Me Tender," "Bridge Over Troubled Water," and "Heartbreak Hotel."

Dawn Rawle, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Entertainment at Westgate Las Vegas, framed the appeal as one of place as much as performance. "This show has a particularly special connection to our property," she said. "The performances that audiences have watched and loved in this documentary happened right here."

Entertainment as a Hospitality Driver

The production is a collaboration with DDM Productions, whose Founder and Director Jackie Miranda emphasized that the concert aims to serve both longtime fans and younger audiences encountering the Presley catalog for the first time. That dual audience positioning is increasingly relevant in Las Vegas hospitality, where resort entertainment programming has become a key differentiator for driving midweek occupancy and off-Strip visitation.

Westgate's dining footprint — which includes Edge Steakhouse, the world's largest Benihana, Fresco Italiano, and several other concepts — stands to benefit from the audience the show draws. Concerts of this kind reliably generate pre- and post-show dining and beverage covers, making live entertainment a direct lever for food and beverage revenue across the property.

For Powell, the venue itself sharpens the stakes of the performance. "Performing this music on the same stage carries a responsibility that means a great deal to me," he said. The production continues a series Westgate has built around Presley's Las Vegas legacy, a hospitality programming strategy that other resort operators have watched closely as they weigh how historic brand identity translates into repeat visitation.

Tickets for the 7 p.m. show on Saturday, October 24, 2026 are available now through Ticketmaster.
