Wendy's (Nasdaq: WEN) is rolling out its annual Halloween programming earlier than fall, with Boo! Books® coupon fundraisers available now and Frosty Frights™ kids' meal collectibles hitting restaurants on September 14 — giving operators a dual traffic driver through the end of the season.
Boo! Books Returns
For $1, each Boo! Books coupon book includes five free Jr. Frosty coupons and one $1.99 Kids' Meal with purchase coupon. Of that dollar, 90 cents goes directly to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, which works to place children from the foster care system into permanent homes. Books are available at participating U.S. restaurants, through the Wendy's app, at in-store kiosks via the "Give Something Back" option, and in bulk through the Foundation's website. In Canada, where the program launches September 28, the books are priced at $3 with all proceeds benefiting the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption Canada.
Frosty Frights, Year Three
Now in its third consecutive Halloween run, the Frosty Frights collectible program expands to 12 new toys for 2026 — six core characters and six variants. The roster includes Numb Chuck, Sir Choc-O-Lot, E.A.T., Cold Foot, Shiver Wing, and Taranchilla. Each toy ships with a sticker sheet and mini trading card, and Kids' Meals come in a full-color Halloween-themed bag. A Frosty Frights-branded book is also included for younger guests. A 13th limited character will be available exclusively through a Wendy's Rewards Drop in the Wendy's app, accessible only to loyalty program members — details to be announced closer to launch.
The Kids' Meal itself offers parents a choice of 2-piece Chicken Tenders, 4-piece Chicken Nuggets, a Hamburger, or a Cheeseburger, paired with Jr. Hot & Crispy Fries or Apple Bites and a kids' drink. Canadian locations will offer six of the Frosty Frights collectibles beginning September 28.
Operator Implications
For QSR operators and franchise owners tracking limited-time offer strategy in the restaurant industry, Wendy's Halloween programming illustrates how a recurring seasonal platform can compound value over time. By its third year, Frosty Frights carries built-in collectible appeal that drives Kids' Meal attachment without requiring an entirely new creative investment each cycle. The Rewards Drop mechanic — a scarcity-based loyalty exclusive — adds a digital engagement layer that aligns with broader restaurant loyalty program trends seen across the QSR segment. The Boo! Books fundraiser, meanwhile, ties transaction volume directly to a cause platform, a model that can meaningfully differentiate a brand during a crowded promotional window. Both programs run for a limited time; Boo! Books coupons are valid through December 31, 2026.
