Partnership Brings High-End Costa Rican Coffee to Greater Boston

Wavelength Coffee Roasters, a Shirley-based specialty roaster, has partnered with Revival Cafe and Kitchen to supply the regional cafe chain's six greater Boston locations with Hacienda La Minita from Costa Rica's Tarrazú valley.

The arrangement marks the roaster's first major foodservice placement since launching in 2025. Revival Cafe and Kitchen operates locations in Cambridge, Somerville, Watertown, Boston, and Lexington.

The Coffee

Hacienda La Minita originates from a 1,200-acre estate in one of the world's most celebrated coffee-growing regions. According to Wavelength, the coffee is hand-tended, hand-picked, and hand-sorted, with only fully ripened cherries selected. The cup profile features notes of baking chocolate, red plum, and sweet citrus. Coffee Review rated it 94 points; it carries Rainforest Alliance certification.

Production Method Sets Wavelength Apart

Wavelength roasts the La Minita using all-electric, air-roasting technology powered in part by on-site solar energy. The company packages the finished product in fully recyclable steel cans.

About the Partners

Revival Cafe and Kitchen launched in 2016, founded by Liza Shirazi of Crema Cafe and chef Steve "Nookie" Postal of Commonwealth Market & Restaurant. The concept centers on pairing high-quality coffee with high-quality food.

Wavelength was founded by Jim and Deanna Varney and operates on a three-pronged sustainability model: sourcing from innovative producers, roasting with electric solar-powered equipment, and using recyclable steel packaging.
