Pittsburgh-based Vocelli Pizza is adding two high-indulgence items to its menu systemwide on Aug. 31: a Detroit Style Pan Pizza and what the chain bills as one of the largest brownies in the quick-service restaurant industry.

The New Menu Items

The Detroit Style Pan Pizza arrives baked in garlic butter and is priced at $14.99, positioned as a shareable format for families and groups rather than a single-serve meal. Operators can upsell a three-cheese blend — Parmesan, Asiago, and Romano — applied to the bottom of the pizza for an additional $3, creating a crispy, caramelized crust edge characteristic of the Detroit style. "Our Detroit Style Pan Pizza is a cheese lover's dream," said Toni Bianco, CEO of Vocelli Pizza. "We know consumers are looking for value right now, and we wanted to create products that deliver on both indulgence and shareability."

The 8-inch-by-8-inch brownie weighs 1.5 pounds, tops out with rich chocolate chunks, and is finished with a chocolate fudge drizzle. The dessert took a year to develop and is timed to capitalize on football-season demand — a window that consistently drives group ordering and delivery volume across the QSR and fast-casual pizza segment.

Why It Matters for Operators

Detroit-style pizza has moved well beyond its regional roots to become one of the most requested pan-pizza formats in U.S. foodservice over the past several years, driven by its thick, chewy crumb and lacy, crispy cheese edges. For Vocelli, adding the format broadens its competitive positioning against both regional independents and national chains that have invested heavily in the style. The $14.99 entry price and optional cheese-crust upgrade create a clear upsell pathway that franchisees can lean on.

The brownie launch is equally strategic. Dessert attachment rates in pizza delivery have historically been underdeveloped compared to other QSR categories, making a dramatic, shareable format — one that doubles as a game-day centerpiece — a differentiated play. Both items follow the brand's recent Pinsa Crust promotion, signaling an ongoing product-innovation cadence aimed at driving repeat visits and franchisee sales performance. Industry observers tracking menu innovation across the pizza category will note that value-oriented shareables are increasingly central to traffic-building strategies as consumers remain price-conscious.

Vocelli Pizza operates more than 80 locations offering carryout and delivery, with franchise development available in single- and multi-unit packages.
