Accor Expands into Las Vegas with Iconic Resort Treasure Island, the 2,884-room Las Vegas Strip resort, officially joined Accor's Handwritten Collection this week, marking the first major property for the Paris-based hospitality group in Nevada. The move signals Accor's expansion into one of North America's largest convention and hospitality markets. The resort becomes the largest hotel in Accor's global network, which includes over 5,800 properties across 110 countries. Handwritten Collection, launched in 2023, is Accor's portfolio of independent-character hotels that retain local identity while gaining access to Accor's global distribution platform and ALL Accor loyalty program.
Preserving Three Decades of Brand Identity Opened in 1993, Treasure Island will maintain the pirate-themed aesthetic that has defined the property for over 30 years. The hotel preserves iconic elements including full-scale replicas of 17th-century pirate ships anchored in the Sirens' Cove lagoon, one of Las Vegas's most photographed features. "Treasure Island TI Las Vegas – Handwritten Collection represents a milestone for Accor in the Americas. As the hotel becomes part of Accor's hospitality ecosystem, it will retain the distinctive character and identity that have shaped its story for more than three decades. We look forward to welcoming guests from all over the world to a resort that brings together comfortable accommodation, diverse dining, world-class entertainment, leisure and wellness spaces, and extensive event facilities in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip," said Mauro Rial, Chief Operating Officer Accor North & Hispanic Americas.
Dining and Entertainment Portfolio The property operates nine food and beverage outlets: Phil's Steak House, Gilley's BBQ with live music, Golden Circle Sports Bar, Pho (Vietnamese), The Coffee Shop, Pizzeria Francesco's (New York-style pizza), Malena's Yogurt Plus, and two Starbucks locations. The hotel plans to open Mexican and Italian restaurants in 2027. Mystère, a Cirque du Soleil production running for over 30 years at the property, has completed more than 13,600 performances with a reported 95% satisfaction rate. The property also features a 24-hour casino, sports betting area, tropical pool, spa, showroom theater, and game room.
Positioning for Convention and Leisure Travel Located in the heart of the Strip with walkway connections to Fashion Show Las Vegas and the Grand Canal Shoppes (400+ retail locations), Treasure Island targets both leisure and convention business. The resort offers meeting and convention facilities designed to accommodate Las Vegas's year-round trade show calendar. Guest rooms and suites feature views of the Strip, Sphere Las Vegas, and surrounding mountains. Rates start at $69 per night.
Sustainability and Community Engagement Treasure Island holds Four Green Globes certification from the Green Building Initiative, implementing energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste recycling initiatives. The property partners with Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada, providing free medical, dental, and mental health services to low-income residents.
Why It Matters
For operators, Accor's acquisition of Las Vegas's most visited independent resort signals consolidation pressure on mid-size Strip properties. The Handwritten Collection model—retaining operational independence while leveraging corporate distribution and loyalty networks—offers an alternative to full rebranding or asset sale for legacy properties seeking scale without losing brand equity.
