New York-based Tabbed has joined the Toast Partner Ecosystem, bringing Bluetooth-enabled mobile payments and AI-driven guest intelligence into the Toast POS environment used by restaurant operators worldwide. The integration allows diners to connect their phones automatically to an open check, split bills instantly, and close out or walk away without waiting for a payment terminal, signature, or printed receipt.
The Operator Case
The practical upside for restaurant teams goes beyond checkout speed. At a single Atlanta restaurant tracked over six months, Tabbed cut payment-related service time by more than nine minutes per table — freeing staff for additional turns and contributing to a 24 percent increase in average tips, according to data gathered by the company. Tabbed's AI also reads live checks and surfaces contextual suggestions — wine pairings, optimal moments to offer a second round, or dessert prompts — directly on the Toast POS screen. Operators retain control of the guest relationship while receiving data-backed prompts designed to lift check averages without scripted upselling.
Nick Danforth, Senior Director of Business Development at Toast, called the addition a meaningful expansion of the platform's capabilities. "By partnering with Tabbed, restaurants can now operate a more efficient and customer-centric business," he said. Toast's Partner Ecosystem currently includes more than 200 integrated technology and services providers.
Guest Intelligence at the Table
Tabbed's guest intelligence layer stores preferences, dining history, and visit frequency, surfacing that profile on the Toast POS the moment a guest is seated. The intent is to give front-of-house teams the contextual awareness — allergies, anniversaries, repeat-order patterns — that has traditionally been the advantage of high-touch private members clubs. "There's a difference between service and hospitality," said Grant Pignio, CEO of Tabbed. "The challenge has always been that even a great server can't remember every guest. By integrating with Toast, Tabbed can put that information in front of Toast customers the moment a guest sits down."
The platform also includes a reputation-management component: guests are invited to share feedback at checkout, with concerns routed privately to operators before they reach public review sites. The feature targets a persistent pain point for independent and multi-unit operators alike, where a single negative online review can meaningfully affect cover volume. Industry observers tracking restaurant technology coverage have noted growing operator appetite for tools that combine payment friction reduction with actionable guest data, reflecting a broader shift toward personalization at scale across hospitality and foodservice operations.
Tabbed's advisory board includes Paul Brown, Founder and CEO of Inspire Brands, and GJ Hart, CEO of SPB Hospitality. The company is backed by Branded Hospitality.
