Station Casinos distributed more than $70 million in Red Rock Resorts Class A stock to nearly 10,000 full- and part-time team members on Sept. 9, 2026, closing out its 50th anniversary celebration with one of the largest employee equity awards in Las Vegas hospitality history. Each eligible worker received $1,000 in stock for every year of service — a formula that rewarded long-tenured staff most dramatically.
The Numbers
The scale of individual awards reflects just how deep some of those tenures run. Seven team members who started at the original Bingo Palace in the 1970s each received more than $45,000 in equity. Among them, Ida Johnson — who joined the company in 1977 — walked away with $49,000 in stock. Shares become accessible to recipients beginning Sept. 14. The grants span the company's portfolio of Las Vegas valley properties, which include full-service resort casinos, neighborhood gaming venues, restaurants, entertainment venues, and bowling centers.
Why It Matters for Operators
For hospitality operators watching labor retention strategies, the Station Casinos move raises the bar on what anniversary or milestone recognition can look like. Rather than bonuses absorbed into a single paycheck, equity grants tie employees to the company's long-term financial performance — a structure that can deepen loyalty while aligning worker interests with shareholder value. The formula also rewards longevity in a segment where turnover is a persistent cost driver, signaling that tenure itself is a metric worth pricing.
Frank Fertitta III, Chairman and CEO of Red Rock Resorts, framed the award in terms of the company's founding philosophy. "This award reflects those values and recognizes the people who have brought them to life every day for the past 50 years," he said. Vice Chairman Lorenzo Fertitta called it "an investment in our nearly 10,000 Team Members, whose dedication and commitment we are deeply thankful for."
A Summer-Long Milestone
The Sept. 9 ceremony at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa was the capstone of a months-long anniversary program that launched July 1 at Palace Station — where the company originated — with a fireworks and drone show and the debut of a new brand identity anchored by the tagline "From Vegas, For Vegas, Always Vegas." Summer programming across the Las Vegas Valley included live entertainment, commemorative food and beverage offerings, vintage photo booths, team member appreciation events, and community volunteer initiatives.
Station Casinos has been recognized by Forbes, Newsweek, Great Place to Work, and Top Workplaces, and the company consistently ranks among Nevada's top employers — a standing it appears intent on reinforcing heading into its next decade of growth.
