Cidery Expands into Coffee with New Taproom Concept Snow Capped Cider, an award-winning cidery on Colorado's Western Slope, has opened Snow Boy Coffee inside its Cedaredge Taproom & Wine Bar. The new concept introduces specialty coffee, ceremonial matcha, and handcrafted espresso drinks to the location at 105 Grand Mesa Drive. Owner and head cidermaker Kari Williams created Snow Boy Coffee to extend the same quality commitment that defines the cidery's cider program. "Coffee has always been something I wanted to do, but only if we could do it the Snow Capped way," Williams said. "We spent months trying coffees, sourcing ingredients, and perfecting recipes because, if we're going to do it, it has to be with the highest quality products available. Flavor has always been at the heart of what we make, and we wanted to bring that same level of care and creativity to Snow Boy Coffee. This will be a place in Cedaredge where people can slow down and enjoy something made with care."
Coffee Sourcing and Menu Snow Boy sources beans from Colorado roasters Sweet Bloom Coffee and Bonfire Coffee, delivered within days of roasting. The menu features organic espresso, ceremonial-grade matcha, and signature beverages including the Mont Blanc (French-inspired espresso), Espresso Tonic, organic iced matcha lattes with house-made cold foams, Earl Grey Matcha, Hibiscus Matcha, and non-alcoholic Espresso Martinis. All syrups and fruit purées are made in-house using natural ingredients, avoiding artificial flavors or overly sweet formulations.
Extended Hours and All-Day Destination Snow Boy Coffee operates Wednesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Monday and Tuesday). The coffee bar complements the taproom's existing program of award-winning cider, Colorado wine, and handcrafted cocktails made with nonalcoholic spirits, bitters, and organic ingredients. Snow Capped Cider operates its own orchards at 6,130–7,000 feet elevation on Colorado's Western Slope, cultivating over 100 apple varieties and 40 peach varieties for cider production.
Why It Matters
For taproom operators and hospitality venues, this move demonstrates the growing opportunity in vertical beverage expansion—using established brand authority and local sourcing to extend dayparts and drive traffic. By adding morning-to-evening beverage offerings (coffee to cider) and emphasizing handmade ingredients and local suppliers, Snow Capped Cider is building a full-day destination model increasingly favored by consumers seeking authentic, craft-driven experiences.
