traditional crossbreeding to develop. Created through non-GMO breeding by
one dedicated onion breeder over the course of his career, Smileys actually
become sweeter, milder, and even less tear-inducing over time. Planted in
the spring, harvested in late summer, and naturally cured before reaching
stores in the fall, they develop an apple-like sweetness with just enough
mild onion flavor. Their lower water content also helps them stay crunchy
when eaten raw and maintain their structure during cooking, making them
incredibly versatile in the kitchen. They'll be available at major
retailers, including Costco, Walmart, and Publix, this November-April.
