RESET Hotel in Twentynine Palms, California has joined Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy, making it the first new brand added to the curated nature-immersed portfolio since the collection debuted in September 2025. The 65-room property sits on 180 acres of high desert landscape minutes from the north entrance of Joshua Tree National Park — and is the first hotel built from the ground up in Twentynine Palms in more than 15 years.

The Property Concept

The design-forward retreat is built around the premise that architecture should recede into its environment rather than compete with it. Every guest room includes private patios outfitted with Solo Stove fire pits, daybeds, and dedicated stargazing platforms. On-site amenities extend to a saltwater pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and cold plunge — a wellness programming stack increasingly common among upscale outdoor hospitality operators seeking to differentiate on experience rather than room count.

Stargazing is a signature experiential pillar at RESET. The hotel runs immersive astronomy programming using Celestron telescopes, with events led by former NASA/JPL astronomers. Creative residencies and design-focused programming round out a calendar intended to give the property cultural relevance beyond a standard leisure stay — a model that hospitality operators tracking experiential revenue will recognize as a durable driver of repeat visitation and ancillary spend.

What the Addition Signals

"Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy was created for travelers who want to immerse themselves in nature without giving up the comforts that make a stay feel effortless, and RESET strikes that balance perfectly," said Diana Plazas-Trowbridge, Chief Lodging Product & Services Officer, U.S. & Canada, Marriott International. Her framing reflects a broader market thesis: the outdoor hospitality segment is maturing past glamping novelty into a structured portfolio category that major brands are actively building out.

RESET joins the collection alongside founding members Postcard Cabins and Trailborn. For Shannon Ching, Co-founder of RESET Hotel, the Marriott relationship is expressly about distribution scale without sacrificing identity. "Joining Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy gives us the opportunity to introduce that experience to a broader global audience while preserving the independent vision and sense of place that define the hotel," Ching said.

For foodservice and beverage operators tracking hospitality venue development, the RESET addition is a useful indicator of where destination resort investment is flowing. Properties designed around wellness programming, dark-sky experiences, and curated F&B-adjacent amenities — communal fire pits, outdoor soaking, immersive evening events — are increasingly shaping guest expectations around food and drink offerings at boutique and independent outdoor hotels. Operators supplying specialty beverages, wellness-focused menus, or experiential F&B concepts may find growing demand from the outdoor hospitality segment as collections like Marriott's continue to expand.

Guests staying at RESET can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points, giving the property full integration into Marriott's global loyalty ecosystem.
