Four Offers, One Month
Red Lobster is stacking four promotional offers across October, signaling a continued push to drive traffic through value messaging at the casual-dining seafood chain. The lineup spans a four-day $1 appetizer window, a permanent late-night Happy Hour extension, a new Endless Shrimp flavor, and a costume-based kids-eat-free promotion over Halloween weekend — each aimed at a different daypart or occasion.
The sequence kicks off with $1 individually sized appetizers available Oct. 9–12 with any entrée purchase at U.S. dine-in locations. Guests choose from Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp, Shrimp Cocktail, or Mozzarella Cheesesticks. The short window is a deliberate urgency play, concentrating traffic during a long holiday weekend.
The Late Night Bet
The most operationally significant move may be the Late Night Happy Hour, which launches Oct. 12 and runs Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to close at participating locations. It sits alongside the chain's existing 3–6 p.m. weekday Happy Hour, effectively bookending the evening with discounted drinking occasions. The late-night window offers $6 signature cocktails, wine, and beer, plus $2 off select starters — items including Seafood-Stuffed Mushrooms, Lobster Flatbread, Crab Queso, and Lobster Dip. A limited-time Fire & Tide Margarita, priced at $6 and upgradable for an additional $3, anchors the cocktail menu for the period.
For operators watching casual dining's bar-revenue strategies, expanding Happy Hour into late night is a calculated move to capture post-dinner social occasions — a daypart where full-service chains have historically ceded ground to bars and fast-casual competitors. "We want guests to have more reasons to say yes to Red Lobster when they're getting together," said Andy Pitts, Chief Marketing Officer at Red Lobster, pointing to the combined role of value, variety, and experiential elements in driving visits.
Endless Shrimp Gets an Upgrade
Also beginning Oct. 12, OLD BAY® Seasoned Scampi joins the Endless Shrimp rotation, bringing the iconic Mid-Atlantic spice blend into a format that already commands strong brand recognition. Priced at $24.99 at most participating locations, Endless Shrimp now offers six mix-and-match flavors — the new OLD BAY option alongside Garlic Bread-Crusted Shrimp, Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp, and Walt's Favorite Shrimp — served with a side and Cheddar Bay Biscuits.
The Endless Shrimp program became a flashpoint for the chain during its 2023 bankruptcy period, when the all-you-can-eat format was cited as a contributing factor to margin pressure. Keeping it at a defined price point while rotating in branded flavor partnerships reflects a more disciplined approach to the program's long-term role on the menu.
For Halloween weekend (Oct. 30–Nov. 1), Red Lobster is offering free kids meals — up to two per table for dine-in, one per order for To Go — with the purchase of a full-price adult entrée. The dine-in version requires kids to arrive in costume; To Go orders use promo code SPOOKY26 online. The offer extends to both U.S. and Canadian locations.
The October calendar reflects a broader value-driven menu strategy that full-service chains have leaned into as consumer spending on dining out faces continued scrutiny. By layering LTOs, daypart extensions, and family-occasion promotions, Red Lobster is working to widen its relevance beyond its traditional dinner-focused positioning — a challenge and an opportunity for the seafood segment as it competes for wallet share against both fast casual and at-home meal options. Industry observers tracking beverage program innovation in casual dining will find the late-night Happy Hour expansion worth watching as a test case for incremental revenue during underutilized hours.
