New Summer Drinks and Food Items Target Holiday Travelers
Philz Coffee is launching a quartet of limited-time offerings this summer, combining nostalgic indulgence with refreshing alternatives as the chain enters its peak seasonal period.
The lineup includes two new cold brew creations: Campfire S'Mores Cold Brew, made with Philtered Soul Cold Brew, marshmallow swirl, cream, cinnamon, mini marshmallows, and topped with cocoa, and Peanut Butter Cup Cold Brew, featuring Philtered Soul Cold Brew, peanut butter swirl, cream, and cocoa powder. Both are available hot or cold.
On the lighter side, a new Raspberry Mint Iced Tea combines cold brew black tea with lemonade, fresh mint, and French raspberry flavoring. The chain is also introducing a Spinach & Feta Croissant—a heat-to-order pastry inspired by Greek spanakopita with flaky, buttery layers and warm spinach and feta filling.
Unity Blend Returns for Fifth Consecutive Year
Beyond the summer menu, Philz is marking the fifth consecutive year of its Unity Blend campaign, an annual initiative that directs proceeds to LGBTQ+ community partners in local markets. This year's campaign features dedicated Unity Blend beans, featured drink creations, and weekly in-store sticker giveaways.
The initiative includes partnerships with organizations such as SF Pride and other local LGBTQ+ nonprofits across Philz's footprint. Full campaign details are expected to be announced separately.
Why It Matters
For multi-unit operators, Philz's dual focus on seasonal menu innovation and year-round community positioning reflects a broader QSR strategy: drive traffic through limited-time offers while building brand loyalty through authentic social impact initiatives. The Unity Blend's five-year tenure suggests sustained customer engagement with values-driven campaigns—a potential playbook for chains seeking to compete beyond product alone.
