A $1 million arcade investment and three new limited-time menu items are hitting Peter Piper Pizza locations this month, as the CEC Entertainment-owned brand intensifies its bet on combined dining and entertainment to drive family visits across its Southwest footprint.

The chain is deploying more than 100 new games and clawcade machines across all of its Arizona and New Mexico locations — more than 40 restaurants — with a full rollout targeted by end of August 2026. New titles span licensed IP-driven cabinets and redemption games, including Guardians of the Galaxy, SpongeBob Ticket Coaster, Monopoly Roll-N-Go, Avengers Pusher Single, NBA Gametime, Spider-Man Pusher Single, Angry Birds Boom!, and The Mystery Machine, among others. Game selection varies by location.

The Menu Play

Alongside the arcade refresh, Peter Piper Pizza is launching three limited-time offerings at participating locations in Arizona, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Mesquite, Texas. The additions lean into both savory and dessert occasions: Cheddar Dippers — made-from-scratch dough stuffed with cheddar and a choice of bacon or jalapeños, then baked — join a returning Mandarin Cranberry Salad (mixed greens, mandarin oranges, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, poppy seed vinaigrette) and a Strawberry Crunch dessert item built on the brand's signature never-frozen dough with strawberry spread, icing drizzle, and streusel. The LTO strategy reinforces Peter Piper's longstanding emphasis on scratch-made preparation as a differentiator in the family dining segment.

"Families come to Peter Piper Pizza because we bring delicious food and entertainment together under one roof at a great value," said Genaro Perez, chief marketing officer of Peter Piper Pizza. "Our arcade refresh and limited-time items build on the complete experience our guests want."

Value Bundling and Operator Context

To support the refresh with a traffic-driving offer, the chain is also promoting its Double Up XL deal — two extra-large, one-topping pizzas for $29.99 — available for dine-in, carryout, or delivery at participating U.S. locations. In a period when casual and family dining operators are under pressure to justify visits against delivery-at-home convenience, bundling a headline value deal with a capital investment in the in-restaurant experience reflects a broader industry play: give guests a reason to come in that can't be replicated on a couch.

Founded in 1973 in Glendale, Arizona, Peter Piper Pizza operates more than 115 locations across the United States and Mexico. As a subsidiary of CEC Entertainment — the parent of Chuck E. Cheese — it competes directly in the family entertainment center (FEC) dining category, where operators are increasingly measured on the quality of both the food and the gaming floor. The $1 million commitment signals that Peter Piper is not ceding that dual mandate to larger competitors.

For operators tracking the intersection of food and entertainment, this refresh is worth watching. FEC-style concepts that pair credible scratch-made food with continuously updated game libraries have shown resilience in post-pandemic traffic data, and Peter Piper's move mirrors capital reinvestment patterns seen across restaurant entertainment concepts. Operators in adjacent family dining segments — particularly those relying on static in-restaurant experiences — may find the pressure to invest in experiential differentiation harder to avoid.
