Texas Footprint Grows

Paris Baguette opened its 28th Texas location on August 14 at 1314 W. University Ave. in Georgetown, adding to a North American network of more than 300 bakery cafés. Franchise owners Saige and David Lee are operating the new unit, which brings the brand's lineup of artisan pastries, breads, cakes, and handcrafted beverages to a suburban market that has seen rapid population growth in recent years.

For David Lee, the Georgetown café represents a pivot from a corporate career in retail operations to independent franchise ownership. A self-described loyal Paris Baguette customer for more than two decades, Lee cited the brand's product quality and community-focused model as driving factors in his decision to invest. "Our vision is to create more than just a bakery café," Lee said. "We want to build a warm, welcoming place where guests can enjoy exceptional pastries, artisan coffee, and outstanding hospitality while creating lasting memories with family and friends."

The 2030 Expansion Push

The Georgetown opening is part of an aggressive national growth strategy. Paris Baguette is targeting 1,000 locations across the U.S. and Canada by 2030, scaling through franchise partnerships with community-oriented operators rather than corporate-owned units. With more than 4,000 locations worldwide, the brand's North American expansion is still in relatively early stages, making the Texas corridor — already its most developed state market — a proving ground for the model.

CEO Darren Tipton framed the strategy around neighborhood positioning. "We're on a mission to re-establish the neighborhood bakery café as the heart of the community across the U.S.," Tipton said, adding that franchisees like Lee embody the hospitality-forward culture the brand is building.

What It Means for Operators

For foodservice industry observers, Paris Baguette's steady franchising cadence illustrates a broader trend: bakery-café concepts are gaining ground in the QSR and fast-casual segments, particularly in suburban markets where consumers are seeking an alternative to standard coffee-and-pastry chains. The brand's dual focus on baked goods and handcrafted beverages positions it squarely against established competitors, while its French-inspired identity offers a point of differentiation.

Franchise candidates considering the bakery-café segment should note the brand's emphasis on local entrepreneurship and community programming, including its "Love Baked In" charitable initiatives. That community integration strategy has become a recurring theme across growing franchise hospitality concepts as operators look to build loyalty beyond transactional visits. With multiple additional locations currently in development across the country, Paris Baguette shows little sign of slowing its North American buildout.
