Three New SKUs
Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. is rolling out three fall products designed to move cranberry beyond its traditional holiday positioning: a limited-edition Cranberry Cider Juice Drink, Sour Apple Flavored Craisins® Dried Cranberries, and a limited-edition Cranberry Spread. The launches target beverage, snack, and condiment dayparts simultaneously—a multi-format push that gives foodservice and retail buyers fresh cranberry options across the menu calendar.
The Cranberry Cider Juice Drink leads the seasonal lineup, blending cranberry and apple flavors with notes of cinnamon, clove, and ginger. The beverage is designed to be served warm or chilled, broadening its utility for operators exploring seasonal non-alcoholic drink programs. It hits Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and select Walmart stores in October. Sour Apple Flavored Craisins—the newest entry in Ocean Spray's existing Sour lineup—pair tart cranberry with bold apple flavor and land on Amazon.com beginning October 5, adding a snacking SKU with clear appeal for grab-and-go and bar program garnish applications.
Spread's Operator Angle
The Cranberry Spread may carry the most direct implications for restaurant and hospitality operators. Inspired by a product already popular in the United Kingdom, the smooth, tart spread is positioned for versatility across breakfast, sandwich, charcuterie, and cheese board applications—use cases that map directly onto hotel F&B programs, brunch menus, and catering setups. It begins rolling out to select retailers including Publix and Hy-Vee in October. For operators tracking seasonal condiment and spread trends, the format signals a broader ambition to slot cranberry into non-holiday meal occasions year-round.
Cooperative Context
For Ocean Spray's roughly 700 family farmers, fall harvest marks the culmination of the growing season, and the cooperative is using this window to push product innovation rather than rely solely on the annual Thanksgiving surge. "This fall, we're giving consumers more ways than ever to enjoy cranberry, from a cozy seasonal sip and a bold new snack to a versatile spread that brings cranberry to even more occasions," said Trinh Le, Vice President, USA Branded at Ocean Spray.
The three-SKU launch reflects a broader industry pattern of ingredient-focused brands stretching seasonal flavors across multiple product categories simultaneously. Cranberry's tart, fruit-forward profile has proven durable in beverage innovation cycles, and Ocean Spray's move into spreads in particular suggests the cooperative sees room to compete in pantry staples beyond juice and dried fruit. Buyers and menu developers sourcing fall seasonal items should note the October availability windows for each product.
