The 47th annual Nashville Oktoberfest returns to Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park from October 1–4, 2026, bringing one of the South's largest German-themed food and beverage festivals back to downtown Nashville's Germantown neighborhood. Organizers expect more than 100,000 attendees across the four-day run, consistent with prior years.
For hospitality operators and beverage professionals, the event represents a significant draw for visitors and locals alike during a competitive fall weekend in Music City. General admission tickets start at $10 when purchased online in advance — $12 at the gate — while single-day VIP access is priced at $197 and includes priority entry, open-bar beer pours, and a catered food spread. A three-day VIP Weekend Pass covering Friday through Sunday is available for $347.
Programming & Beverage Partners
Jägermeister returns as the Official Shot of the festival, renewing its partnership for the 2026 edition. The lineup spans German and local craft beers alongside traditional German food, with live performances from Kraken's Release, Fly2K, and polka and German bands. Signature competitive events include Stein Holding Competitions — which double as official qualifiers for the Tennessee State Steinholding Championship — Brat Eating Contests, the 5K Bier Run through historic Germantown on Saturday, October 3, a Pup Parade, and the crowd-favorite Dachshund Derby on Sunday, October 4.
Festival Executive Director Michael King described the event as a convergence of Bavarian tradition and Nashville culture. "From our traditional keg tapping on Complimentary Community Day, to live music, competitions and the 5K Bier Run, this year's festival gives everyone a reason to raise a stein and celebrate," he said.
Admission Structure and Hours
Thursday, October 1 opens as Community Day, with gates at 5 p.m. and admission complimentary for all guests who reserve a free ticket online. Friday admission is also free until 4 p.m. with an advance reservation; paid tickets are required after 4 p.m. Friday and throughout Saturday and Sunday. Children ages three and younger receive complimentary admission all weekend. The festival runs rain or shine, with alcohol service limited to guests 21 and older presenting valid photo ID.
For beverage industry professionals tracking experiential alcohol marketing trends and foodservice operators monitoring high-traffic event weekends, Nashville Oktoberfest represents the kind of large-scale, ticketed food-and-drink event that shapes hotel occupancy, restaurant covers, and off-premise retail in surrounding areas. Events of this scale also offer a useful lens on German beer and imported spirits positioning in the U.S. market, particularly as Oktoberfest-style programming continues to expand beyond its Midwest strongholds into Southern markets.
Founded in 1980, the festival is Nashville's longest-running Oktoberfest celebration. Full schedule details, VIP passes, and Bier Run registration are available at TheNashvilleOktoberfest.com.
