Mister O1 Takes Chef Collaborations Beyond the Guest Dinner

Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza is expanding its chef partnership strategy this summer with The Extraordinary Cup, a four-city series that pairs founder Chef Renato Viola with acclaimed culinary talents to create limited-edition pizzas inspired by World Cup countries.

Unlike traditional guest chef dinners, each collaboration includes a one-night-only ticketed tasting event featuring the collab pizza plus exclusive off-menu creations that will never appear again. The model reflects a broader industry shift toward chef partnerships that double as cultural experiences rather than standalone novelty offerings.

The Lineup

The series kicks off June 18 in Naples with Chef Kayla Pfeiffer (Michelin-recommended Bicyclette Cookshop; 2025 James Beard Emerging Chef semifinalist) creating a Team USA pizza called "Red Card"—described as a "smoky, spicy pie layered with Calabrian chili tomato sauce, smoked mozzarella, Benton's bacon, roasted tomatoes and a bright chimichurri finish."

Dallas (June 25) features Chef Toby Archibald of Michelin-recommended Quarter Acre with "The Coastal New Zealand," a "lighter, coastal-leaning pizza with marinated kingfish, vegetables and a citrusy, garlicky finish."

Atlanta (June 30) brings Chef Freddy Money (Michelin-starred Atlas, Nami, The Garden Room) and "Fred's Fav"—a "bold, savory-sweet combination with chorizo, capers, olives and sultanas."

The series concludes in Miami (July 9) with Chef Alejandra Espinoza (Cotoa, Michelin Bib Gourmand; UN Ambassador for Gastronomic Tourism) and "Ecuadorian Seco," "inspired by the traditional stew with roasted chicken, plantains, Andean corn and herb-forward notes."

Why It Matters

The Extraordinary Cup demonstrates how restaurants are using global events as entry points for storytelling through food—and how limited-time offerings can drive traffic while elevating a brand's cultural credibility. For operators, the ticketed tasting model creates a higher-margin experience than standard pizza sales, while the chef collaboration angle generates media buzz and positions participating venues as culinary destinations. With Mister O1's aggressive expansion (now operating across Florida, Georgia, and Texas), this series signals the brand's commitment to leveraging its founder's Michelin recognition and the guest chef trend to differentiate itself in a crowded market.
