The New Release
Meiomi Wines is entering the premium white blend category with Meiomi Blanc White Wine, a California-sourced blend of unoaked Chardonnay, Viognier, and Malvasia priced at $20.99 SRP. The wine, sourced from select Central Coast vineyards including Arroyo Seco, marks the brand's first proprietary white blend and its most deliberate push beyond its flagship Pinot Noir.
Why the Timing Matters
The launch tracks directly to measurable category momentum. White blends priced above $11 posted 11% volume growth in the U.S. in the 12 weeks through March 1, 2026, according to Circana Total US MULO+C data — one of the few traditional wine segments still expanding. For restaurant and bar operators managing wine lists in a cautious-spending environment, that trajectory makes a recognizable brand entry into the segment worth attention. Meiomi's existing retail and on-premise distribution footprint gives Blanc immediate shelf and list access that smaller white blend producers typically lack.
"With Meiomi Blanc White Wine, we saw an opportunity to bring our signature plush style to a refreshing, modern white blend that meets growing consumer demand for premium white wines," said Jason Becker, Director of Winemaking for Meiomi. "By blending unoaked Chardonnay, Viognier, and Malvasia from California's Central Coast, we've created a vibrant, approachable wine that stays true to the balance and elegance consumers expect from Meiomi."
Profile and Positioning
The blend carries 14.0% ABV and is described as aromatic-forward, with pineapple, tropical fruit, orange blossom, citrus, and white nectarine notes. The unoaked Chardonnay base keeps the profile fresh rather than buttery, differentiating Blanc from Meiomi's existing Chardonnay and its citrus-driven Sauvignon Blanc. The Central Coast sourcing — particularly Arroyo Seco, a sub-appellation known for expressive, high-acid whites — grounds the wine in a credible California provenance story that resonates with both by-the-glass programs and retail buyers.
For hospitality operators, Blanc's versatility across occasion types — outdoor dining, dinner parties, celebratory pours — fits the all-day flexibility that on-premise wine directors increasingly look for when streamlining list offerings. Its food affinity with seafood, grilled chicken, creamy pastas, and soft cheeses gives servers straightforward pairing guidance. Our beverage industry analysis has tracked growing operator interest in approachable white blends as a hedge against declining Chardonnay-only demand, and Meiomi Blanc slots neatly into that gap. Operators looking to deepen their white wine programming can find additional category context in our restaurant beverage coverage.
Meiomi Blanc White Wine is available at retailers nationwide and direct at meiomi.com. The brand is part of The Wine Group portfolio.
