A new 75,000-square-foot Meijer Grocery store opened September 30 in Fishers, Indiana, becoming the retailer's sixth grocery-format location across the Midwest and its second in the state, following a 2024 opening in nearby Noblesville.

Situated at 15700 Southeastern Parkway, the store is stocked with a full range of departments — produce, dry grocery, daily-cut fresh meat, an in-store bakery with cake decorators, full-service deli, pharmacy, and floral — alongside health and beauty, baby, and pet categories. A dedicated "Local Favorites" endcap highlights Indiana-made products including Copper Moon Coffee, Triple XXX Root Beer, and Just Pop In Popcorn, a merchandising tactic that reflects broader grocery retail trends around local sourcing and regional identity.

Private Labels and Loyalty

The Fishers store carries Meijer's two house brands: Frederik's by Meijer, the retailer's premium line built around the legacy of founder Fred Meijer, and True Goodness, a better-for-you label formulated without more than 100 specific ingredients. Both lines are designed to deliver store-brand value at a quality tier that competes with national brands — a strategy gaining urgency as consumers scrutinize household food budgets. Executive Chairman Hank Meijer framed the opening around that pressure: "We know that value is more important now than ever before, so our team will continue working diligently to ensure customers find quality items at the best possible prices."

On the digital side, the location supports the mPerks loyalty program, which lets shoppers earn on every dollar spent and redeem points for in-store coupons or fuel savings at Meijer Express stations. Personalized "hand-picked offers" in the app deepen engagement with frequent shoppers. The store also offers Home Delivery and Pickup services and Shop & Scan, a scan-as-you-go mobile checkout option that reduces friction at the register — tools increasingly expected in competitive grocery and foodservice retail environments.

Community Investment at Opening

At the ribbon-cutting, Store Director Janice Thongvanh and her team presented $15,000 in donations split between Fishers Youth Initiative, which provides mentoring and meal assistance to local youth and families, and Good Samaritan Network, which connects underserved Hamilton County residents to critical resources. The store's first food pantry partner, Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank, will benefit from Meijer's holiday Simply Give campaign running through December 26. Since 2008, Meijer's Simply Give hunger-relief program has generated more than $100 million for Midwest food pantry partners — a figure that underscores the scale of the retailer's community commitment across its more than 500 locations.

The Fishers store also advances Meijer's accessibility agenda. Family restrooms feature larger, height-adjustable changing tables designed for customers with disabilities and their caregivers, and all Meijer locations — including this one — offer free access to Aira, an app-based service that delivers live navigation assistance to blind and low-vision shoppers via smartphone camera. President & CEO Rick Keyes described community integration as foundational: "Supporting the communities we serve is one of our highest priorities, and that commitment starts well before a new store opens its doors."
