Madhappy's food and beverage concept Pantry has opened its first standalone café inside Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, serving resort guests and walk-in visitors daily from 6AM to 6PM. Pantry Maui is the brand's fifth location overall—joining outposts in West Hollywood, New York, Malibu, and Tokyo—and its first built as an independent destination rather than a retail add-on.

The Menu

Executive Chef Ryan Schelling and Executive Sous Chef AJ Thalakkat collaborated directly with the Pantry team to develop a menu that reflects Maui's ingredient landscape. Exclusive beverage offerings include a Mango Sticky Rice Matcha Latte and a Banana Coconut Latte, complementing Pantry's signature sweet-cloud matcha and latte lineup. On the food side, a Poi Coconut Crown—a flaky pastry layered with poi and coconut—and a South Side Acai Bowl featuring li-hing mui, pineapple, lychee, strawberry, haupia, toasted coconut, mac nut crumble, lilikoi sauce, and honey anchor the island-exclusive offerings. House-made pastries, sandwiches, salads, wraps, smoothies, gelato, and sundaes round out an all-day grab-and-go format designed for the flow of a resort stay.

Sourcing reflects a deliberate mix of local and specialty global partners. Cold-pressed juices and tonics come from Maui Juice Co., while chocolate is crafted using Hawaiʻi-grown cacao from Lonohana Estate Chocolate. Coffee is sourced from Los Angeles roastery Loquat—with a signature blend created exclusively for Pantry Maui—and ceremonial-grade matcha is supplied by Nekohama, a Japanese-founded brand rooted in traditional craftsmanship.

Fashion Meets Foodservice

The Madhappy connection introduces a dimension that sets Pantry Maui apart from conventional hotel café concepts. Madhappy, the Los Angeles-based apparel brand founded in 2017, built Pantry as a community gathering format that blends custom menus with specialty retail. At Maui, that means a curated assortment of Pantry-branded apparel, accessories, drinkware, specialty packaged goods, and resort-exclusive products sold alongside food and beverage—a model that mirrors the crossover between hospitality retail strategy and experiential dining increasingly embraced by luxury properties.

Konrad Gstrein, Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, described the café as a natural extension of the resort's culinary identity: "Pantry enhances our existing collection of dining experiences with distinctive beverages, exclusive menu offerings, and an elevated all-day grab-and-go concept that seamlessly fits into a guest's stay." Madhappy Co-Founder and CEO Peiman Raf emphasized the intentionality behind the partnership: "A shared commitment to quality, thoughtful hospitality, and exceptional guest experiences has shaped every aspect of the concept."

Broader Resort Transformation

Pantry Maui opens as part of a wider property renovation at Four Seasons Maui. A reimagined Club Floor debuted in May 2026, Kai Holo Spa opened in July 2026, and refreshed guest rooms and suites are slated to debut in Q4 2026. New pool cabanas, expanded wellness programming, and immersive cultural spaces round out a transformation that positions the 383-room Wailea property for a new competitive cycle in the luxury resort segment.

For operators tracking beverage and café programming within luxury hospitality, Pantry Maui offers a case study in how brands can leverage fashion and lifestyle credibility to differentiate a hotel's food and beverage footprint—especially as all-day café formats replace traditional lobby bars and room-service models across the upper-upscale tier.
