Logan's Enters Cannabis Beverage Market with Texas Test

Logan's Roadhouse is entering one of hospitality's fastest-growing beverage categories, introducing three low-dose THC cocktails at its Texas locations.

Each drink contains 5 milligrams of hemp-derived THC made with Flora® Cannabis-Infused Spirit. The test reflects broader shifts in consumer behavior, particularly among younger diners seeking alternatives to traditional alcohol.

Product Launch Details

The three offerings—Scarlet Haze (prickly pear, lemon, lime), Pineapple Express (pineapple, orange juice, grenadine), and High Tide (pineapple, coconut)—will be priced at $9.99 each. A promotional tasting flight offering all three beverages for the same price launches at participating locations on Monday, June 8.

The beverages are available exclusively to guests 21 and older, with a limit of three per guest. Critically, THC cocktails cannot be ordered alongside alcoholic beverages.

Market Context

While most THC beverage sales currently occur through retail channels, restaurants represent a small but rapidly expanding segment. Market analysts estimate the THC beverage category could reach $4 billion in sales by 2028, driven by consumer demand for hangover-free alternatives to alcohol.

"Guest preferences around beverages are evolving quickly, and we're seeing growing interest in traditional alcohol substitutes," said Shawn VanWinkle, Vice President of Marketing for Logan's Roadhouse. "Offering a low-dose THC option allows us to meet that demand in a thoughtful way while keeping the focus on what Logan's does best, bringing people together over great food, great drinks and hospitality."

Why It Matters

For restaurant operators, Logan's test signals the mainstream beverage industry's gradual acceptance of cannabis-infused products. As regulations continue to evolve and consumer preferences shift away from traditional alcohol, operators exploring alternative revenue streams should monitor how established casual-dining chains approach product safety, guest education, and legal compliance in this emerging category.
