L'OFFICIEL COFFEE Expands into Macau's Premier Entertainment District
The Generation Essentials Group has completed the interior design and build-out of L'OFFICIEL COFFEE and L'OFFICIEL BAR at City of Dreams in Macau, marking the second global location for the luxury coffee concept.
The venue sits adjacent to House of Dancing Water, Macau's long-running aquatic theatre production that has drawn millions of visitors since its 2010 debut. The venue benefits from proximity to the theatre's 270-degree theater-in-the-round setup and cutting-edge stage technology, positioning it to capture foot traffic from the entertainment venue's audiences.
Expansion Strategy Underway
TGE, a subsidiary of AMTD Digital Inc., announced that an official opening date will follow on its social media platforms. The company signaled further global expansion plans for the L'OFFICIEL COFFEE and L'OFFICIEL BAR concept in coming months.
"L'OFFICIEL COFFEE and L'OFFICIEL BAR aim to deliver elevated, distinctive experiences for guests at City of Dreams and visitors from around the world," according to the company announcement.
TGE operates as a diversified media and entertainment portfolio under the AMTD Group umbrella, comprising L'Officiel magazine, The Art Newspaper, film and entertainment projects, and premium hospitality properties.
Why It Matters
Macau's tourism recovery has accelerated post-COVID, with gaming and entertainment venues rebounding strongly. The placement of an upscale coffee concept adjacent to a major attraction signals confidence in the market's recovery and reflects broader trends of premium F&B expansion in Asia's gaming destinations. For operators, the strategy demonstrates how lifestyle brands are anchoring themselves in high-traffic entertainment properties rather than standalone retail locations.
