Lance Marrin has been named General Manager of Hyatt Regency Dallas, bringing nearly four decades of experience with Hyatt Hotels Corporation to one of the brand's prominent urban convention properties in Texas.
The Operator's Résumé
Marrin's career spans leadership roles across multiple Hyatt properties in the U.S. and Canada, including stints as General Manager at Grand Hyatt DFW, Hyatt Regency Vancouver, and Hyatt Regency Bellevue in Washington state. He also served as Hyatt's Corporate Director of Rooms, a portfolio-level role that gave him broad operational oversight across the company's global footprint of more than 1,450 properties in over 80 countries.
His most recent post — General Manager of Grand Hyatt Scottsdale — is arguably his most visible credential for the F&B and hospitality community. Over five years there, Marrin led a $120 million redevelopment that touched every corner of the resort: a full renovation of all guest rooms, suites, and casitas; a new pool complex; an additional 12,000 square feet of meeting space; and the launch of seven new dining concepts. That kind of multi-outlet food and beverage programming at scale is increasingly a differentiator for upper-upscale and luxury hotels competing for group and leisure business. For industry professionals tracking hospitality food and beverage strategy, the Scottsdale redevelopment is a useful case study in how major flagships are repositioning their dining portfolios as amenity drivers rather than afterthoughts.
Back to Dallas
The Dallas assignment is something of a homecoming — Marrin previously led Grand Hyatt DFW before moving to Canada. His return places him at a property that competes in one of the country's most active convention and corporate travel markets. Downtown Dallas continues to draw significant group business, and full-service hotels in that segment face ongoing pressure to elevate their food and beverage offerings alongside meeting infrastructure.
Marrin's experience overseeing large-scale F&B buildouts positions him well for that challenge. Operators and hotel restaurant professionals watching upper-upscale hotel dining trends will note that his track record favors comprehensive concept development over incremental updates — a signal of how Hyatt may approach the Dallas property's programming going forward.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation, headquartered in Chicago, operates more than 30 brands across the luxury, lifestyle, all-inclusive, upper-upscale, upscale, and select-service segments under an asset-light business model focused on management and franchise revenues.
