Dave Hulays has been named Chief Financial Officer of The Hershey Company, effective September 2, 2026, taking over from Steve Voskuil, who will shift into a strategic advisory capacity before retiring in early 2027.
Hulays joined Hershey in 2012 as VP Finance, Canada, and has since expanded his remit across virtually every financial function in the organization — including U.S. and International commercial finance, Global Supply Chain, M&A, Corporate FP&A, Global Tax & Treasury, and Enterprise Transformation. Before Hershey, he spent 15 years at Procter & Gamble in roles spanning commercial, supply chain, strategy, FP&A, and global business development across North American and international markets. In total, he brings nearly 30 years of financial leadership experience to the company's top finance seat.
The Leadership Case
Kirk Tanner, President and CEO of The Hershey Company, emphasized both the depth of Hulays's institutional knowledge and his leadership character. "He leads with rigor, accountability and courage," Tanner said. "I'm confident he's the right person to lead our finance organization into its next chapter." Voskuil, who guided Hershey's finance organization through seven years that included significant market volatility and supply chain disruption in the food and confectionery sector, will move into an SVP, Strategic Projects role focused on CEO and board priorities during the transition period.
Operator Implications
For foodservice buyers, retail partners, and supply chain operators who depend on Hershey's confectionery and snacking portfolio — from seasonal chocolate programs to ingredient supply agreements — executive continuity at the CFO level matters. A seasoned internal successor reduces the risk of strategic pivots in pricing, trade investment, or capital allocation that can ripple through food and beverage industry supply chains. Hulays's background in Global Supply Chain finance is particularly relevant given ongoing cost pressures across cocoa and sugar commodity markets that have challenged confectionery manufacturers broadly.
The transition also reflects a broader pattern across large consumer packaged goods companies of grooming internal talent for C-suite succession rather than recruiting externally — a strategy that tends to preserve institutional relationships with retail and foodservice customers. Operators tracking Hershey's strategic direction in restaurant and hospitality channel partnerships can expect a measured handoff rather than an abrupt shift in financial philosophy.
Hulays holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from York University's Schulich School of Business. He and his family are based in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
