Harilela Hotels Expands to Singapore Harilela Hotels is converting the Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre into The Hari Singapore, a 326-bedroom luxury hotel slated to open in spring 2027. The property will become the third location for the brand, joining existing hotels in London's Belgravia (opened August 2016) and Hong Kong's Wan Chai (opened December 2020).

Design and Amenities British designer Tara Bernerd, who designed both existing Hari properties, will lead the Singapore design. The hotel will feature a rooftop pool, executive lounge, dining and wellness facilities, and the brand's signature rotating artwork collection. Bernerd's approach "balances contemporary elegance with a strong sense of place, creating layered interiors that feel both sophisticated and welcoming, reflecting the energy and cultural character of Singapore."

Brand Vision "This hotel, like our sister properties in Belgravia and Wan Chai, will embody relaxed elegance punctuated by eccentricity, wit, culture and genuine heartfelt hospitality," said Dr. Aron Harilela, the brand's founder. "Singapore is key to our ambition to evolve The Hari in major international destinations." The Harilela Group, established in 1959 and still family-owned, operates 15 properties across Hong Kong, China, Asia, Europe, and the US through its Harilela Hotels subsidiary.

Why It Matters The Singapore opening signals continued expansion for independent luxury hospitality brands targeting Asia-Pacific markets, particularly in gateway cities. Design-led, culturally rooted positioning increasingly differentiates boutique hotels from standardized luxury chains in competitive urban centers.
