Fast-Fine Greek Chain Runs Sept. 1 Giveaway Across Tri-State Footprint The Gyro Project, a Greek fast-fine restaurant with nine locations across New York City and New Jersey, is marking National Gyro Day on Tuesday, September 1st with a limited-edition scratch-off card promotion. The chain will distribute 10,000 "Instant Gyronaire" scratch-off cards at all locations—five Manhattan venues (Upper East Side, Murray Hill, Garment District, Midtown East, Hudson Yards, Upper West Side) and three New Jersey sites (Northvale, Newark, Fort Lee). Each card guarantees a prize. "National Gyro Day is the perfect excuse to have a little fun and give our guests something back," said George Tenedios, co-owner of The Gyro Project. "We wanted to create a promotion that feels exciting, unexpected and uniquely The Gyro Project. Every card is a winner, so everyone gets to celebrate with us — and hopefully leave with a great prize and a craving for gyros."
Prize Tiers Winning cards offer escalating rewards: free froyo toppings, free side sauce, free mini bakery item, free froyo shooter, $3–$5 discounts on entrees, bowls, salads, and pitas, plus free sides, beverages, and full dishes.
Rapid Expansion in Tri-State The Gyro Project, founded by childhood friends George Tenedios and Spiro Kokkosis, opened its first location in Fort Lee, New Jersey in July 2023. The chain has since expanded to nine locations. The menu features classic gyro pitas with chicken, pork, and beef/lamb, platters with rice and salad, Greek mezedes, loaded fries, specialty bowls and salads, bakery items, rotisserie chicken, and signature Greek frozen yogurt. By Fall/Winter 2026, the brand plans to open additional Manhattan locations in Union Square, Times Square, and Hell's Kitchen as part of its growth strategy. Scratch-off cards will be distributed on September 1 while supplies last.
