Seasonal Event Spotlights Owner's Farm Farm Bar is hosting Good Apple Days, a three-day celebration of autumn apples running October 2–4 at its Lakeview and Ravenswood locations in Chicago. The event showcases fruit from Brown Dog Farm, which is owned by Farm Bar founder TJ Callahan.
Menu Highlights The limited-time offerings include Autumn Apple Pork Belly Bites with apple butter BBQ sauce, Apple Cider Bruschetta with apple and Brussels sprout caponata, prosciutto and stracciatella, an Autumn Apple Salad, and applewood-smoked short rib with apple molasses and apple demi-glace. Diners can add a side of Brown Dog Farm Apple Butter. Drink and dessert options feature a Caramel Apple Sundae, Cider Sangria, Orchard Spritz, Brown Dog Farm's Johnny Mac Cider—made exclusively with apples grown at the farm—Beets By J., and Hot Apple Cider. Families can decorate their own apple dessert with caramel and chocolate toppings.
Loyalty Play With Sealed Prize Envelopes Every guest receives a sealed "Bounce-Back Envelope" with their bill containing a guaranteed prize. Farm Bar is using the sealed-until-return format to encourage repeat visits before year's end. Prizes range from discounts and complimentary dishes to gift cards, Farm Bar merchandise, a free Thanksgiving To-Go Dinner, and the chance to adopt an apple tree at Brown Dog Farm. Guests must return to open their envelopes with a server or bartender. Reservations are available through OpenTable.
Why It Matters
The event demonstrates how restaurants leverage vertical relationships with supplier-owned farms to drive seasonal traffic and build customer loyalty through experiential promotions. The sealed-envelope mechanic is a direct traffic-generation tactic designed to convert one-time visitors into repeat customers during a specific window.
