Blue Flag Capital has opened two new Faraway Hotels properties this June—Faraway Sag Harbor in New York and Faraway Jackson Hole in Wyoming—marking the brand's first expansion beyond its New England island origins on Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.

Faraway Sag Harbor: Oceanic Revival on the Hamptons Waterfront Faraway Sag Harbor, a 67-room reimagining of the historic Baron's Cove, draws design inspiration from the village's maritime and whaling heritage. The interiors, developed with Jenny Bukovec Studio, employ an Oceanic Revival concept with sea-toned palettes and layered textures. The property centers on Zagara, an Amalfi Coast-inspired restaurant helmed by Executive Chef and Culinary Director Jarad McCarroll. "Zagara pairs Mediterranean-inspired cuisine with a lively social atmosphere, extending from the dining room to an outdoor terrace with sunset views and private dining space," according to the release. Additional amenities include a heated outdoor pool with cabanas, padel court, seasonal spa treatment rooms operated by ONDA Beauty, fitness center, and indoor and outdoor gathering spaces.

Faraway Jackson Hole: Mountain Retreat With Western Heritage Faraway Jackson Hole, built on the legacy of the former Snake River Lodge, offers 90 guestrooms, 51 residences, and direct access to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The design, created with Workshop/APD and Jenny Bukovec Studio, employs a "Wild Western Homestead" concept featuring natural materials, warm textures, and residential details. Sure Hand, the property's all-day restaurant and bar, "serves locally inspired cuisine and craft cocktails in a lively gathering space overlooking the surrounding mountains." Later this summer, the property will offer curated adventure excursions in partnership with Backcountry Safaris, including horseback riding, whitewater rafting, and tours of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Indoor and outdoor wellness amenities, including a pool, hot tub, and sauna, debut in August.

Broader Growth Strategy The two openings are part of a larger expansion for Blue Flag Capital and its in-house management platform, Collared Martin Hospitality. The company recently opened Hotel Corduroy in Montauk and will later this summer open Oyster Estate in Greenport, adding to its existing portfolio on Nantucket. "From the beginning, our goal with Faraway was never to create a formula, but rather a collection of hotels that each tell a unique story about the place they inhabit," said Jason Brown, Co-Founder and CEO of Blue Flag Capital. "Sag Harbor and Jackson Hole are incredibly different destinations, but both share the qualities we look for—strong identities, rich histories, and communities that care deeply about where they live." Brad Guidi, Co-Founder and Chief Development Officer, added: "What excites us most is that neither property looks or feels like the other. Every design decision, restaurant concept, and guest experience was developed specifically for its destination."

Why It Matters

The expansion demonstrates how boutique hospitality operators are leveraging distinctive F&B and design programming as anchors for multi-property growth. By developing destination-specific restaurant concepts rather than replicating a single model across markets, Faraway is differentiating itself in a crowded leisure hospitality segment while deepening ties to local communities.
