Sloan Dean, former CEO of Remington Hospitality, has launched AI Hospitality Group (AIHG), positioning it as the hospitality industry's first AI-native hotel operating company — one that signs management agreements directly with owners rather than selling software to them. The Dallas-based startup closed a $7.5 million seed round led by Rackhouse Venture Capital, with participation from Sierra Ventures and Dynamo Ventures.

The Core Model

The company's pitch is structural, not technological. AIHG deploys more than 60 autonomous AI agents across back-office functions — recruiting, accounting, revenue management, and marketing — built on an orchestration layer that consolidates more than 20 data sources into a unified semantic model. On-property staff remain entirely human, freed from administrative load to focus on the guest experience. The company targets 500-plus basis points of gross operating profit (GOP) margin improvement for hotel owners.

"Hotel owners don't have a tools problem. They have an operating model problem," said Dean, who serves as Founder and CEO. "The industry has spent a decade buying software while EBITDA margins eroded from roughly 30 percent to 20 percent. AIHG isn't another vendor selling a dashboard. We sign the management agreement, take responsibility for the P&L, and deliver the outcome."

The framing draws on a category defined by Emergence Capital in 2024 — AI-native services (AINS) companies — distinguishing AIHG from point-solution vendors by virtue of its accountability for financial outcomes.

Why the Timing Is Significant

The launch lands against a deteriorating backdrop for hotel owners. CMBS delinquency rates for limited-service hotels reached 8.35 percent in July 2025, more than double their 2022 low. Sixty-five percent of North American hotels reported staffing shortages in 2025, with labor costs rising 11.2 percent year over year. U.S. hotel EBITDA margins have eroded approximately 20 percent since 2019 — pressures that align squarely with broader hospitality labor and margin trends reshaping how operators approach staffing and technology investment.

Dean's founding team includes Co-Founder and CTO Kishan Dahya, a third-generation hotelier and software engineer whose AI-agent infrastructure work has been cited by LangChain, and Chief Operating Officer Eve Moore, who joins from Magna Hospitality Group where she served as Executive Vice President of Operations. Founding Partner Zach Cunningham leads data and analytics.

First Deployments

AIHG launches with two design partnerships. The first is with The Ameswell Hotel, a premium independent property in Mountain View, California. The second spans two properties in the Parable Hospitality portfolio, the Aliso Viejo, California-based management platform overseeing more than 30 independent, lifestyle, and branded hotels across California and Hawaii. Both deployments measure agent performance against KPIs including time-to-hire reduction, RFP response speed, and revenue forecast accuracy.

"We built Parable around performance, accountability, and trust," said Scott Roby, President of Parable Hospitality. "The agents do the back-office work, our people stay focused on the guest, and the results show up in the P&L where owners can see them."

The company's advisory board includes David Kong, former CEO of BWH Hotel Group, and representatives from Noble Investment Group and White Label Asset Management. Kevin Novak, General Partner of Rackhouse Venture Capital and formerly Uber's first Head of Data Science, joins as a Board Observer.

For operators tracking AI-driven automation in hotel and restaurant management, AIHG's model — taking full management responsibility rather than licensing tools — represents a direct challenge to traditional third-party management companies. The seed capital will fund platform expansion and the onboarding of its first wave of managed hotels.
