Duff Goldman is taking his culinary storytelling off the screen and onto the stage. The Food Network veteran launches "The Tao of Duff," an 11-city live theater tour opening September 30 at Fremont Abbey in Seattle and running through mid-November with stops in San Francisco, Dallas, New York, Chicago, and more.

The one-man show blends stand-up comedy, personal memoir, and live baking demonstration — Goldman plans to stretch phyllo dough on stage — into a format that has no direct precedent in the food-entertainment space. It's a significant extension of the celebrity chef format beyond cookbooks, streaming deals, and branded product lines, and a signal of how culinary personalities are increasingly monetizing their audiences through live experiential events.

The Show's Format

The production draws on Goldman's full biography: early stints in fast food and fine-dining kitchens, time in metal bands, and the launch of Charm City Cakes, the Baltimore custom-cake operation that made him a household name on Food Network's Ace of Cakes. Goldman has described the show as part history lesson, part baking class, and part stand-up set. "I'm going to bake, tell stories nobody's heard, and probably say something I shouldn't. You can't get that from a TV screen — you have to be in the room," he said.

For hospitality and foodservice operators, Goldman's tour reflects a broader trend in which chefs and culinary media figures are building revenue streams through ticketed live events, a category that has grown alongside the rise of food festivals, immersive dining, and chef-driven pop-ups. Our restaurant trends and chef business coverage has tracked how culinary brands increasingly look beyond brick-and-mortar and TV deals to engage consumers directly.

Goldman's Expanding Footprint

The tour arrives as Goldman expands his physical presence in foodservice. In 2026 he opened Duff's Deli + Market in partnership with Areas USA at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport — his first restaurant concept — placing him squarely in the airport dining segment alongside major foodservice operators. Tickets go on sale August 14, 2026, through Duff.com.

Beyond the restaurant, Goldman's commercial ecosystem spans cakes available through Goldbelly, party products on Hallmark.com, and baking kits through Baketivity. His cookbook Super Bad Baking for Kids debuted on the New York Times bestseller list. He currently mentors competitors on Food Network's Baking Championship: Next Gen and judges Holiday Baking Championship, keeping him at the center of baking-focused food and beverage media on platforms that reach millions of home bakers and culinary enthusiasts.
