Disney's Lakeshore Lodge is set to open July 1, 2027, on the shores of Bay Lake at Walt Disney World, introducing a nature-immersive resort concept that includes distinct dining venues, recreational amenities, and 967 rooms ranging from studios and villas to new one- and two-bedroom waterfront Lake Houses.
To build awareness ahead of the opening, Disney Experiences unveiled a large-scale 3D street mural in New York City's Flatiron Plaza on October 2, created by acclaimed street muralist Tracy Lee Stum — a Guinness World Record holder for the largest chalk painting by an individual. The installation depicted Daydream River, the resort's signature lazy river experience, offering a tangible preview of the property's tone and aesthetic.
Dining and Guest Experience
While Disney has not yet detailed individual restaurant concepts, the resort's dining program is positioned as a central pillar of the guest experience. The property draws design and culinary inspiration from Walt Disney's passion for the outdoors and from decades of Disney Animation stories rooted in nature — including Bambi, Pocahontas, Encanto, and Brother Bear. Operators and hospitality professionals in the resort dining and food-and-beverage space will recognize the familiar formula: immersive theming that extends from guestroom décor into the food-and-beverage program, using natural materials, earthy palettes, and original artwork to shape the full sensory environment.
The lodge is positioned as a deluxe resort, situated just a boat ride from Magic Kingdom Park — a location that historically drives significant food-and-beverage volume at Walt Disney World properties. With 967 rooms across multiple accommodation categories, the resort will generate substantial daily cover counts across its dining venues, making it a notable addition to the competitive hospitality and resort dining landscape.
Reservations and Rollout
Disney Vacation Club members gain first access to reservations beginning October 6 by contacting Member Services. Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can book starting October 7. General reservations open October 8 via phone, travel agents, or online. The phased rollout reflects Disney's standard strategy of rewarding loyalty program members with early access — a model increasingly adopted across the broader hospitality industry to drive direct bookings and reduce third-party dependency.
For the foodservice and hospitality trades, Food & Beverage Magazine has tracked the broader trend of major resort operators doubling down on experiential dining as a key differentiator — a strategy clearly embedded in Lakeshore Lodge's DNA from the ground up. As large-format resort properties continue to compete on the strength of their food-and-beverage offerings, Disney's latest project will be closely watched as a benchmark for nature-themed hospitality concepts.
