A water main rupture forced Dialog Café's hand — and the West Hollywood café responded by securing a hotel residency rather than going dark. Dialog Café, founded by brothers Narbeh and Tadeh Ghazalian nearly 18 years ago, will open inside The Sun Rose West Hollywood on October 3, 2026, bringing its full menu, complete beverage program, and existing team to the Sunset Strip hotel while restoration work continues at its original location.
The original café has been closed since a July 16, 2026, water main incident caused substantial damage. The founders estimate the restoration process could take approximately one year or longer, with no confirmed reopening date for the original site. Rather than suspend operations entirely, the Ghazalians negotiated a street-level residency at The Sun Rose — a move that preserves staff jobs, maintains customer relationships, and keeps revenue flowing during an indefinite closure.
The Residency Setup
The Dialog team will operate daily from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Sunset Blvd property, with street-level access separate from the hotel's lobby. The full menu travels with the move: the cult-favorite Dialog Breakfast Burrito made with pasture-raised eggs, the Chicken Caesar Wrap, and the café's complete breakfast and lunch lineup. The beverage program — including the Madagascar Vanilla Latte, Shaken Strawberry Oat Matcha Latte, smoothies, and seasonal specialty drinks — will also be available, as will room service for hotel guests. Executive Chef Gino Pineda, whose résumé includes Barbrix Wine Bar and All'Acqua, leads the kitchen.
