Restaurant back-of-house software provider Decision Logic has released two new products—Vitals and ShiftFlow—designed to give restaurant managers actionable, in-shift intelligence rather than end-of-day reports that arrive too late to change outcomes.
The Two-Tool Approach
Vitals delivers a live operational dashboard built around 34 near-real-time metrics covering performance, labor, productivity, and adjustment risk. The breakdown includes 14 performance metrics, 11 labor metrics, five productivity metrics, and four adjustment-risk metrics. Rather than requiring a manager to run reports from a back-office terminal, Vitals surfaces whether sales are tracking to forecast, whether a crew member is approaching overtime, and whether voids or discounts are trending in a direction that warrants attention—all while the shift is still in progress.
ShiftFlow addresses the execution side of that equation. The tool consolidates task management into a single mobile workflow, supporting nine task types at launch: scheduled orders, inventories, line checks, maintenance, closing activities, manager reminders, and notification reminders. Tasks can originate from existing schedules, be pushed down from above-store leaders, or be created on the fly by managers responding to in-the-moment needs.
Built for Manager Turnover
The products are explicitly designed around one of the industry's most stubborn operational challenges. Decision Logic cites a 28% annual manager turnover rate as a core reason ShiftFlow emphasizes consistency and guided workflows. When an experienced manager departs, institutional knowledge about shift sequencing, task priorities, and brand standards often leaves with them. ShiftFlow's documented process structure is intended to compress the ramp-up period for incoming managers and maintain execution standards across locations regardless of tenure.
"Restaurant managers have always had plenty of data. What they haven't always had is the right information at the moment they can still act on it," said Keegan Conrey, CEO of Decision Logic. "We want managers to be able to see a problem developing, understand what needs attention and do something about it before the shift is over instead of reading about it in a report tomorrow."
For multi-unit operators and above-store leaders, the combination creates a clearer accountability chain: Vitals surfaces the signal, ShiftFlow routes it into a task, and both tools leave a record that regional managers can review without requiring a store visit.
Availability and Integrations
Both products are available now, with beta customers already live on the platform. Vitals launches with integrations for Toast and Qu, with additional POS integrations planned. ShiftFlow operates without a POS dependency, broadening its potential install base across the varied technology stacks common in multi-unit foodservice. Operators can see both tools demonstrated at the Decision Logic booth at FSTEC 2026.
The launch extends a platform that already includes inventory management, food cost intelligence, labor optimization, and consolidated sales reporting. Current operator partners include 54th Street Restaurants, RibCrib BBQ, Golden Corral, Taco John's, and Twin Peaks—a mix that spans casual dining, fast casual, and family dining segments.
For restaurant operators evaluating back-of-house technology investments, the Vitals and ShiftFlow release reflects a broader industry push toward closing the gap between data collection and in-shift decision-making—a priority that has intensified as labor costs and margin pressure make every shift hour more consequential. Industry analysts tracking restaurant operations and labor trends have noted growing operator demand for tools that surface actionable signals in real time rather than generating post-shift analytics that inform only the next day's briefing.
