The New Blend
Death Wish Coffee Co., the top-ranked Fair Trade and organic coffee brand in the United States, is adding a White Chocolate Pistachio medium roast to its seasonal lineup beginning September 29. The SKU launches exclusively on the brand's direct-to-consumer site at $13.99 for a 9-ounce ground bag, with a broader rollout to major retailers and Amazon planned for 2027.
The blend combines toasted pistachio and sweet white chocolate flavor notes, crafted from Certified Fair Trade arabica and robusta beans. Death Wish characterizes the cup as smooth and low-acidity, and the product contains no artificial flavors — a spec that increasingly matters to specialty coffee buyers and the operators who stock them.
The Market Case
The timing tracks a documented surge in pistachio as a food and beverage flavor. The U.S. pistachio market was valued at $2.3 billion in 2025 and is projected to climb from $2.4 billion in 2026 to $3.2 billion by 2033, according to Grand View Research. Pistachio has migrated rapidly from the snack aisle into beverage industry innovation, appearing in lattes, ready-to-drink formats, and now branded bagged coffee.
"Pistachio profiles are exploding, but we weren't interested in making just another play-it-safe fall coffee," said Sasha Auguste, Chief Marketing Officer of Death Wish Coffee. "We built a blend that offers deep, cozy indulgence without compromising on our sustainably sourced standards or our signature smooth taste."
What Operators Should Note
For foodservice buyers and specialty retail buyers, the staged distribution strategy is worth watching. A direct-to-consumer exclusive window that converts into a national retail push is a familiar playbook in premium coffee, and Death Wish's existing footprint — more than 25,000 stores nationwide, according to SPINS MULO scan data from December 2025 — gives the brand the shelf infrastructure to execute a wide rollout quickly when 2027 arrives.
The White Chocolate Pistachio release also signals continued investment in flavored specialty coffee as a growth lever, a category that restaurant and café operators are watching closely as consumer demand for seasonal, limited-edition offerings drives trial and repeat visits. Death Wish's positioning as a certified ethical-sourcing brand may give the SKU added resonance with operators that emphasize supply-chain transparency on menus and in marketing.
Sister publication Food & Beverage Magazine has been tracking the broader pistachio flavor wave across packaged goods and foodservice channels throughout 2025 and into 2026.
