Starting November 16, Dave & Buster's will rebrand its 187 U.S. locations as 'Doom & Buster's' in a sweeping, limited-time partnership with Marvel Studios built around the December 18 theatrical release of Avengers: Doomsday. The campaign runs through January 31, 2027, and touches every revenue center in the building — the gaming floor, the bar, the loyalty program, and in-store retail.

Inside the Doomsday Zone

The physical transformation centers on what Dave & Buster's is calling the Doomsday Zone: themed entry arches, Marvel-branded signage, and dedicated game screens that reframe the arcade floor as an immersive extension of the film's universe. New game titles already rolling out include MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, a four-player co-op beat 'em up, and Avengers: Roller Race & Battle, a head-to-head racing cabinet. Additional activations include a Human Crane experience, Thor's Hammer Strike, an Avengers-themed photo booth, and a Funko prize pusher stocked exclusively with Avengers figures. Collectible Power Cards featuring characters such as Thor, Doctor Doom, and Yelena are available at kiosks while supplies last.

"When one of the biggest movies of the year is coming, you don't put up a poster. You bend the knee," said Jeremy Tucker, Chief Marketing Officer at Dave & Buster's. "Doom & Buster's is a world fans can only walk into with us, and it's built for the thing we do better than anyone: bringing people together to play, compete and be part of the action."

The Walt Disney Studios is treating the collab as a model for experiential film marketing. "Rather than creating a traditional promotion, they transformed their entire business into an immersive celebration of Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday," said Lylle Breier, EVP of Partnerships, Promotions and Events at The Walt Disney Studios. "The result is a bold, fan-first experience that extends the story beyond the theater and into the real world."

Beverage and Loyalty Angles

The bar program gets its own overhaul with five limited-time offerings available November 16 through January 31. Three cocktails are built on Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka — including the Multiversal Mule, finished with edible luster dust and an LED glow cube, and the Fantastic Flight, a four-part mini-cocktail flight — alongside two alcohol-free mocktails designed to capture non-drinking guests. The drink menu is a clear signal that Dave & Buster's views the beverage line as a co-equal driver of event-night revenue, not a secondary add-on. For operators tracking beverage industry trends, the Smirnoff integration represents the kind of branded spirits partnership that is increasingly common in the casual-dining and eatertainment segment.

The loyalty component, branded DOOMHOUR, may be the most tactically interesting piece for operators. Beginning November 16, Dave & Buster's Rewards members will receive a push notification 24 hours before a randomly selected promotional window begins, then a second notification on the day revealing the exact hour. During that 60-minute window, members earn double tickets on all green-swipe games. The mechanic is designed to drive both app downloads and return visits — rewarding loyalty members with advance intelligence while still creating in-venue excitement for non-members when in-store screens and D&B Live radio broadcast the start of each DOOMHOUR.

What It Means for Eatertainment

For the broader restaurant and eatertainment category, the Doom & Buster's activation illustrates how large-format dining-and-entertainment venues are increasingly positioning themselves as launch partners for major entertainment IP — not just passive beneficiaries of a movie cycle's foot traffic. By coordinating a full rebrand, a game-floor overhaul, a themed cocktail menu, and a loyalty mechanic under a single campaign window, Dave & Buster's is effectively turning 187 locations into a distributed film-marketing platform.

The campaign also demonstrates a tightening relationship between foodservice operators and entertainment studios seeking real-world audience touchpoints ahead of major theatrical releases. With Avengers: Doomsday arriving December 18 — squarely inside the holiday dining-out season — the timing positions Dave & Buster's to capture incremental group visits from families and friend groups who might otherwise have no specific occasion driving a weeknight outing.
