Luxury cruise operator Cunard has released 93 new voyages running from October 2028 through May 2029, covering 104 destinations across 49 countries — and the program's design signals a deliberate pivot toward immersive, food-and-culture-driven travel that hospitality operators and destination dining partners should track closely.
Guests will average 12 hours per port call, with 18 overnight stays and 18 late-evening departures built into the schedule. That extended dwell time creates direct revenue opportunities for waterfront restaurants, local food-tour operators, and beverage purveyors in markets stretching from Bridgetown, Barbados, to Singapore and Cape Town. For hospitality industry observers, the shift mirrors a broader luxury travel trend: affluent guests increasingly prioritize culinary access over sheer mileage.
Flagship Milestones
The headline moment is Queen Mary 2's landmark 500th Transatlantic Crossing, structured as a 21-night roundtrip from New York with embarkation options in Hamburg, Southampton, and — for the first time since 2015 — Liverpool. "Queen Mary 2's landmark 500th Transatlantic Crossing will be one of the most significant moments in Cunard's modern history, reconnecting Liverpool with our iconic Transatlantic service," said Paul Ludlow, President of Cunard. The Liverpool reactivation alone reopens an entire regional hospitality market to high-spend cruise guests who haven't had direct Cunard access for over a decade.
Elsewhere in the fleet, Queen Elizabeth embarks on a 115-night World Voyage from Southampton and Miami, with overnight calls in Singapore — highlighted explicitly for its Michelin-starred street food scene — as well as Hong Kong, Sydney, and Cape Town. Queen Anne's 86-night South America Discovery voyage from Southampton pairs Caribbean ports with an overnight stay in Rio de Janeiro during Carnival, plus calls in Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Valparaiso, and Callao. The itinerary frames regional cuisines and cultures as central selling points, not afterthoughts.
Port Access and F&B Implications
Seven maiden port calls debut in this program, including Cunard's first-ever stop in Praia, Cape Verde — a market with virtually no existing luxury cruise infrastructure. For food and beverage entrepreneurs in emerging ports, first-call status can catalyze years of hospitality investment. Queen Anne will also make maiden calls in San Juan, St Thomas, Castries, and Colón, while Queen Elizabeth visits Fort-de-France, Martinique, and Nawiliwili, Hawaii, for the first time.
Onboard, Cunard continues to position dining as a brand differentiator. The line's partnership with a two-Michelin-starred chef remains central to its guest experience narrative — a strategy that aligns with what food and beverage industry analysts have identified as a defining characteristic of premium hospitality growth: using chef-driven programming to justify price premiums and drive loyalty.
Cunard World Club members gain exclusive early booking access beginning November 3, 2026, with general sale opening November 4. Guests booking by December 16, 2026, receive 10% introductory savings on Cunard Fare. Travel advisors can access details through OneSourceCruises.com.
