Cunard will put Queen Victoria into dry dock at Damen Shiprepair in Rotterdam from October 17 to November 5, 2026, emerging with a redesigned Grand Lobby, reimagined Queens Room, upgraded Grill Suites, and a new food-and-wellness venue that signals where luxury hospitality dining is heading.
The Pavilion Wellness Café
The centrepiece from a food-and-beverage standpoint is The Pavilion Wellness Café, a dedicated daytime dining venue serving breakfast, lunch, and all-day fare built around plant-based cuisine alongside sustainably sourced meat, fish, and dairy. Queen Victoria will become the third ship in the Cunard fleet to carry the concept, following its debut on Queen Anne in 2024 and its rollout to Queen Elizabeth in 2025. The rapid fleet-wide expansion underscores how strongly wellness dining has taken hold among premium cruise guests — a trend hospitality operators across segments are navigating as guests increasingly expect health-forward menu options alongside traditional indulgence.
Elevated Dining & Suite Spaces
Cunard's Grill experience — the line's flagship luxury tier — will receive new furnishings and refined detailing across both Queens Grill and Princess Grill Suites. The Queens Room, long the stage for Cunard's signature Afternoon Tea, live music, and Gala Evenings, is also being reimagined to sustain what the line calls its "timeless elegance." Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, described every decision as being made "with deep respect for the heritage and charm that make her who she is," adding that the team has thoughtfully considered each detail from the Grand Lobby to the Queens Room.
Beyond dining, the refit adds eight Britannia staterooms, three of which fall into a newly created Britannia Deluxe Oceanview category featuring floor-to-ceiling windows. Those cabins go on sale July 20 for voyages departing from November 11, 2026 onward. The broader 2027 program covers the Mediterranean, Norwegian Fjords, and Canary Islands.
For hospitality professionals tracking luxury food and beverage programming, Cunard's phased rollout of the Pavilion Wellness Café across its fleet is a textbook case of menu innovation scaling from a single vessel to a brand standard. The format — plant-forward anchor with sustainable proteins alongside — mirrors the direction premium hotel dining rooms and resort F&B teams have been moving as operators respond to guest demand for lighter, values-aligned eating without sacrificing quality. As covered by Food & Beverage Magazine, wellness-driven menu concepts have become a competitive differentiator across the broader hospitality landscape, not just at sea.
Queen Victoria returns to service on November 7, 2026.
