Culver's is rolling out its most Wisconsin-coded LTO of the year: the Fried Pickle Pub Burger, built on fresh, never-frozen beef, real cheddar cheese, crispy fried pickles and a tangy Brewpub Sauce on a soft pretzel bun. Available systemwide August 3 through September 27 while supplies last, the item anchors a back-to-school seasonal push that spans burgers, custard flavors and pumpkin fall treats across the chain's more than 1,050 family-owned locations in 26 states.

Behind the Build

The Fried Pickle Pub Burger is the latest entry in a series of Pub Burgers Culver's has mapped out for 2026—a lineup designed to layer bold flavor onto the brand's signature fresh-beef platform. Kasey McDonald, Culver's head of culinary, framed the execution challenge plainly: "A fried pickle on a burger only works if the pickle stays crisp and the brine balances the richness of the beef." Fried Pickles are also available as a standalone side during the same August 3–September 27 window, giving operators an upsell vehicle that fits neatly alongside the core burger offer.

For QSR and fast-casual operators watching limited-time offer strategy, the build is instructive. Culver's is leaning into a regionally specific flavor story—Wisconsin pub and supper-club tradition—rather than chasing a generic trend, a positioning move that reinforces brand identity while still generating trial among guests who respond to familiar comfort formats like the pretzel bun.

Custard and Fall Flavors

The LTO push extends well beyond the burger. Two new Flavors of the Day join Culver's Fresh Frozen Custard rotation, which already spans more than 30 options. Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie—chocolate custard layered with brownie pieces, REESE'S Peanut Butter ribbons and fudge—arrives systemwide Wednesday, August 5. OREO REESE'S Cheesecake, folding OREO Cookie Pieces, REESE'S Peanut Butter Cups and cheesecake into Vanilla Fresh Frozen Custard, follows on Wednesday, September 2.

Fall custard programming begins September 8, when the new Pumpkin S'mores Concrete Mixer joins the returning Pumpkin Spice Shake and Salted Caramel Pumpkin Concrete Mixer. Each is made with real pumpkin spice and Fresh Frozen Custard, extending the brand's pumpkin equity into the back half of Q3—a window where seasonal menu strategy can meaningfully lift check averages and repeat visit frequency.

Taken together, the back-to-school slate is a tightly sequenced calendar: a burger LTO from late summer through late September, custard flavor drops staggered across August and September, and pumpkin desserts launching in early fall. That cadence keeps marketing messaging fresh and gives franchise operators multiple traffic-driving moments rather than a single promotional spike.
