Early Openings, Discounted Smoothies Target Active Mornings CRISP & GREEN is shifting its opening times earlier across its chain to capture guests fueling morning routines before workouts, commutes, or the school run. Effective July 22, the fast-casual wellness brand—which operates 52 locations with dozens more under development—is introducing what it calls an expanded "morning experience" centered on smoothies, açaí bowls, and handcrafted beverages. "Morning is when so many wellness routines begin, whether that's a workout, heading to the office, getting kids to school or simply taking time to fuel yourself before the day starts," said Steele Smiley, Founder and Executive Chairman of CRISP & GREEN. "Expanding our morning hours allows us to better serve those routines while continuing to reinforce what CRISP & GREEN has always stood for: bringing together food, movement and community."

Promotion Rewards Gym Members To drive traffic during the new daypart, the chain is running a limited-time promotion through July 31. Guests who visit before 11 a.m. and present a current gym or fitness studio membership card or app profile at checkout will receive any signature smoothie for $5. (Restrictions may apply.) The move reflects wider industry momentum toward daypart expansion in fast-casual, where breakfast and early-morning occasions remain underutilized compared to lunch and afternoon traffic. CRISP & GREEN's focus on wellness and active lifestyles—reinforced through its "Rooted in Wellbeing" philosophy and partnerships with fitness communities—positions the promotion as aligned with its brand identity rather than a generic price cut.

Why It Matters

For operators, earlier openings and membership-linked promotions signal a playbook for capturing loyalty-rich, health-conscious demographics during under-monetized dayparts. As the fast-casual wellness segment matures, chains that can integrate with guests' daily routines—gym sessions, commutes, school drop-offs—gain stickiness beyond meal occasions.
