The Kyle Opening

Chicken Salad Chick opens its newest fast casual location on August 19 in Kyle, Texas, at the Amberwood Retail Center on I-35 — the brand's first foray into the Austin market. The unit includes a drive-thru and full dine-in service, rounding out a service model that also covers takeout, third-party delivery, and catering.

To mark the grand opening, the first guest in line at 10 a.m. will receive one free large Quick Chick of chicken salad per week for a full year. The next 99 guests in line will receive one free large Quick Chick per month for a year. Grand opening week promotions continue Thursday through Saturday, with the first 50 guests at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day receiving branded merchandise with the purchase of a meal and two sides.

Franchise Group's Texas Push

The Kyle restaurant is owned and operated by OberRoc LLC, whose four partners — James Oberg, Jeff Rochelle, George Shaw, and Rosemarie Acerra — now run six Chicken Salad Chick units across the greater San Antonio region, including locations in New Braunfels, Stone Oak, Roadrunner, Westover Hills, and Boerne, which opened in early June 2026. Kyle is the group's second opening in 2026 and its first location outside San Antonio proper.

"While many of our group's restaurants are based in greater San Antonio, Kyle marks our first outside of Austin," said Jeff Rochelle, co-owner of Chicken Salad Chick of Kyle. "Kyle is such a fun and unique city, and we believe residents here will embrace what we have to offer." OberRoc has development commitments for additional restaurants in the San Antonio area in the coming years, underscoring the kind of multi-unit momentum that has powered Chicken Salad Chick's broader fast casual franchise expansion strategy.

Brand Context

Scott Deviney, CEO and president of Chicken Salad Chick, pointed to the OberRoc partnership as central to the chain's Texas growth ambitions. "Texas remains a key growth state for us," Deviney said, "so we're excited to see their continued growth and impact throughout the state." The brand has grown to more than 340 restaurants across 25 states, competing in a fast casual segment that continues to attract operators looking for differentiated, made-from-scratch menu concepts — a trend tracked closely in restaurant industry analysis covering the segment.

The Kyle team will also support the brand's CSC Foundation, which channels fundraising toward CURE Childhood Cancer and local food banks. Pre-opening Friends & Family events will raise money for CHRISTUS Children's Hospital in San Antonio. The new unit operates Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
