A single spin of the World Famous CaskX Bourbon Wheel awarded festival-goer Paul Jones an entire barrel of 2026 Jackson Purchase bourbon — the headline moment of a Kentucky Bourbon Festival run that CaskX says generated 2,354 total wheel spins over the Sept. 10–13 event in Bardstown.

Saturday alone produced 1,140 spins, a new single-day record for the activation. Throughout the weekend, guests at the wheel received pours from a rotating selection of rare and allocated whiskeys, including six bottles of Pappy Van Winkle. The barrel competition narrowed 15 finalists to five, with CaskX CEO Jeremy Kasler making the deciding spin in front of Jackson Purchase Distillery representatives Nichole Beam and Andrew Newton.

Inside the Lounge

Beyond the public wheel, the CaskX Lounge operated as an invitation-only gathering for clients, investors, and distillery partners. Featured guests included Craig Beam and Terry Ballard of Jackson Purchase Distillery, Jade Peterson of Kentucky Artisan Distillery, Matt Gandolfo and Jake Vollmer of Rabbit Hole Distillery, Sam Rock and Ben Franzini of Bluegrass Distillers, Dan Callaway of Bardstown Bourbon Company, and Jon Newton and Brett Connors of Castle & Key. Pours on offer included Kentucky Artisan Distillery's Oldham County Reserve 11-Year-Old Bourbon, Bluegrass Distillers' 19-Year-Old Elkwood Reserve, and Castle & Key's Experimental Series Hungarian Tokaji release — bottles that are either limited or no longer available at retail. Comedian Jim Gaffigan made an unplanned appearance during a Fathertime Bourbon takeover, spinning the wheel and sharing the winning pour with nearby guests.

Panels and Market Dialogue

CaskX used the festival to engage with broader trade conversations around the whiskey category. Kasler joined Craig Beam and Jade Peterson on the Kentucky Bourbon Festival main stage for a panel moderated by bourbon writer Steve Coomes, examining the current whiskey market and the economics of contract distilling — a model that underpins how many emerging brands source and mature their product. CaskX Director of Whiskey Sara Havens later joined the Bourbon :30 Whiskey Writers' and Influencers' Panel alongside podcasters and spirits journalists to discuss category trends and the evolution of bourbon culture. For operators and buyers tracking beverage industry trends, those panel discussions reflected a wider question the trade is navigating: how oversupply at some age statements coexists with continued scarcity at the allocated tier.

The festival week opened with a private Investor Showcase at Rabbit Hole Distillery in Louisville, where guests sampled whiskey pulled directly from barrels still in maturation — an experiential format that connects the whiskey investment and hospitality crossover with the physical supply chain behind a finished bottle. CaskX's platform centers on helping qualified investors acquire and hold bourbon and Scotch whisky casks through maturation, and the showcase gave that abstract asset class a tangible, sensory frame. Together, the four-part festival strategy — showcase, wheel, lounge, and panels — illustrated how cask investment platforms are increasingly showing up in consumer-facing bourbon culture rather than operating solely in financial services channels.
